Someone mentioned This Year by the Mountain Goats. I fully second that, and would add that I'd recommend any of their songs - of which there are many. They released two albums just in 2019 (one of which was put together in like a weekend so that the lead singer could pay his band the wages they were missing due to their cancelled tour). The Sunset Tree, Transcendental Youth, and Tallahassee are probably my favorite albums. And if you like the Mountain Goats I would also recommend Neutral Milk Hotel and AJJ (formerly Andrew Jackson Jihad). |
