Wolvden Giving Tree - "Conspiracy Grove" with it's own Mechanics & Rewards

Posted 2020-11-18 23:15:22

It definately may be a tad complex and need tweaking! I do agree there. My explanation wasnt the best so let me try to rephrase that part.

After a pup is initially donated, each rollover it is NOT claimed, they have a small or 50/50 chance of randomly finding a common item. So, the day your pup gets adopted, they simply no longer find items the following rollovers. It wouldn't be a system like the herbalist that I have in mind for this section, so each item would be added to your hoard each rollover versus a physical collection. Example on common things just for extra measure; feathers, your biomes herb, maybe even a critter carcass or left over kill/small meat chunks.

Perhaps a cooldown should be put in affect for 1 rollover whenever a pup is added to a slot before they can be adopted, thus allowing the chance to be relevant at least once, but I am unsure if that would be necessary as I don't want the mechanics to get too complex. I think that would have to tie in with overall cooldown/limits/slots and that section in general may need more reworking than other sections, in my own opinion. However I'm not entirely sure how that would best work, input from others would likely be needed to advance that!

No worries at all!! That definitely helped me understand a bit more!! I don't have much ideas for how else to improve it, but I think with a little more tweaking it could be a great system! :>

This is an interesting idea.. it may help eliminate the lioden issue of people putting trash cubs/pups on the giving tree since there is no limit on the amount you can donate there

We definitely need something in place for extra pups

If pups are being adopted from slots, they would keep stats and mutations, which would be nice! And heritage as well.. so it's not totally abandoning them for adoption

Ooh I love that this is different than Linden's system! I'm a little unclear on some of the mechanics (maybe a little description of each, aside from the flavor text would be nice?) but I like what I understood!

I do think they should be "chased" at adulthood, but maybe that's just me.

I really love this idea you put here and if people like it then there’s a chance that your idea could go through it doesn’t matter if people don’t like it and put you down for it. Keep up the good work and eventually you will succeed I totally support your idea.

Though I can’t think of anything else but if I think of something I’ll let you know 🐾🐺

I think I like this (especially the part in which you are presented with 4 adoption options) but I'm not sure I understand how exactly it works... Flavour text is cute but a bit unclear.

Maybe an explanation paragraph of the mechanic at the end would help, especially if devs need to understand the idea behind this.

Support! Honestly, I always feel so bad just chasing pups... This would make me feel so much better.

I came to the forums looking for a Giving Tree solution and I'm so happy I found this one! I approve and hope the devs see it so we might have another option for getting rid of unwanted pups.
