Make where our pack lives matter?

Make where our pack lives matter?

I just think it would be neat if there where our packs were situated made a bigger impact in the game. Animals usually adapt differently to their climates, and seeing it reflected here would be neat.

Starting in the mountains could give us wolves adapted to a colder climate. All pups born there could have higher strength, but lower speed. Perhaps even slightly thiccer, due to adapting a thicc coat to keep them warm.

The forest could be the middle ground, where stats aren't really effected, but the wolves themselves might be slightly taller, as they live in a more bountiful area.

Prairies could be seen as a warmer climate, and thus the wolves there would be faster and slimmer, as they wouldn't need such dense coats, but would also pack a little less of a punch, due to not being as weighty as the other two.

Or, this could be an option for later on in the game, when we've unlocked different climates and can move our pack to the desert or elsewhere.

Either way, you'd have to keep what sort of wolves you have in your pack in mind if you're moving from one extreme climate to the next. Desert born wolves might need to be fed extra food for a few roll overs to keep warm, while wolves born from a pack living in the taiga might have a slight penalty to stamina regeneration. Giving your wolves time to acclimatize and adapt in a more moderate climate could mitigate this, at the expense of spending a rollover or two in a place you don't want to be.

I love this idea!! Though I wouldn't ask the artists to do art changes and that kind of small variation for our wolves, just data-specific. Though having clime-based poses in the future might be cool... (:

i like this idea.

not in art changes. its change in the stats  , then i 'm ok with that.

I am cool with both. However the art changes sound like a whole lot more work, so state wise yes.

I think this would be a neat idea- though I think it would be more appropriate if they got a stat boost to the stat corresponding to the biome- the stat boost you can get from scouting that specific biome, that is. (All starter biomes and prairie are speed, riparian woodland and glacier are wisdom, tundra and coniferous forest are smarts, taiga and swamp agility, rainforest and desert are strength)

Well, if art differences are out, what about just a size difference corresponding to where they were born? Or just stats, like everyone else said.

i don't necessarily love this unless it only applies to the difficult-rated biomes— i think there should be places where people's stats are entirely up to how they breed if that's how they prefer to play, but i do like the idea of the difficult biomes being more refined and unique by this feature. if it were only for difficult biomes, i support!

@Phantom also I think stats would imply size— like higher strength would usually mean broader wolves, higher speed would mean longer legs/thinner frame, higher agility would mean smaller wolves, higher smarts/wisdom would mean average size. this would make it less work for the artists while also leaving room for interpretation— rather than having a high agility wolf be forced to be small, someone could imagine a really giant wolf who's just real light on his feet haha, or vice versa. basically if only stats are changed and art/size remains the same it would give players more leeway for creativity, if that makes sense haha, and also be less work for the devs
