Stud Search: Sort/Filter By Last Time Online

Stud Search: Sort/Filter By Last Time Online

EDIT: It happened! Thanks devs!

Hi devs!

I was doing some test searches, looking for studs, and found that there was no way to determine whether the user of the breeding male was online or not, and how long ago they were online, through the Search system. In fact, at the moment it takes 2-3 additional clicks to find out how long ago the owner was online: 1 to get to the wolf, 1 to get to the pack page (which might show the user is online), and 1 to get to the user page (where it'll show how long ago they were online).

In addition, the only sorting is by ID number, meaning wolves who have been on the site longer will always show up first. While the site is new, this isn't that big of an issue, since most users are still active. As time goes on, though, it'll mean inactive users will disproportionately be on the first page, since active users will have wolves with higher IDs.

To fix this, I suggest either (or both) add a way to sort wolves by the last time the user was online, or add a filter where you can eliminate wolves whose users haven't been online in X days. This would make it so you can find wolves of users who have been online recently rather than having to check every time, or risk sending a stud request to someone who hasn't been online in weeks!

I don't know how much coding it would take to implement this, because while there is a similar sorting feature on Lioden, studs there are tied to the user ID, while they have their own ID on Wolvden. I don't know how they are coded on the backend of Wolvden. To implement this, it would require at least breeding male wolves to be tied to a specific user in a searchable way, and for the search system to be able to pull up the user's last-time-online information.

Thanks for considering this suggestion!

I was going to suggest the same thing! There are so many studs who haven't logged in in days and it's a serious waste of time.  I'd love both a sort-by-time and a filter, and also just having the last login time displayed in the results list.

Or if it's too hard to tie the wolves to the users, maybe do a sort/filter/display on when the wolf was last bred? It wouldn't be quite as good, since there are many active users who didn't breed in the last day because there wasn't a request, but it'd be better than nothing.

I'm doing more stud searches and it's so frustrating to have to check everyone's last login time. This would really help.

support! maybe it could include a "last online" in the search results,  in a separate column after the info column as well?

I can support this. I dont really see it being added to the game though.

I was just about to add the same idea (you can guess what I was doing before -.-).  Definately support!
