Random Eye Applicator/Common Eye Randomizer

Random Eye Applicator/Common Eye Randomizer

I haven't seen this suggestion anywhere and tried to do a search for it, but please let me know if you think it's too similar to another!

I often find myself with a wolf that I bred to an outside stud with beautiful markings, but they just happened to get those vibrant nightglow or luminescent eyes that don't really fit in with the pelt. But the wolf isn't valuable enough to justify 3GC on an eye changer, so I either have to deal with it or sell them. I think this is silly, since often, I would be perfectly fine with a less valuable eye color if it would look more natural, and I don't really care what natural eye color it is.

#1 So my first idea is pretty simple, really— a random marking applicator for eyes. This would work similarly to the RMA, presumably with the eyes sorted into categories, so you have a TRULY MINUSCULE chance of getting a rare (BO/raffle/special NBW) eye color, a very small chance of an applicator color, and a HIGHLY LIKELY chance of getting a common eye color (custom/normal NBW). I would think it reasonable to price this at 1GC in the grove, since there is a chance of getting a rare color.

#2 However, I could see the potential for upset at raffle/special NBW eye colors being obtainable this way. I personally don't mind, but that's also not really why I'm making the suggestion anyway— I'm more in it for a cheaper option to take away unnatural eye colors. So my second suggestion would be a common eye randomizer that only selects from the pool of normal NBW/custom eye colors. However, I would really only prefer this suggestion over the former if it is available for SC from the Raccoon, as I don't think it's fair to pay GC when there is 0 chance of high value AND you're not customizing. Unlike the former suggestion, where I can see concern for people spamming to get rare eye colors, I don't see how this would affect the market negatively in the least. In fact, I can imagine the only use for it would be to downgrade eye rarity, case in point being the way I would use this item to remove eyes like Nightglow, Total Eclipse, etc. At most, this would increase the rarity and value of those eyes ^^

IF the second was implemented with an SC cost from the raccoon, then I would PREFER that option, because I think it would be nice to have a way to do a fun randomization on a wolf without having to spend GC. I think eyes (and skins/claws/noses, for that matter), are a good way to implement that, since they don't add any value so long as they are from the common NBW/custom pool.

I also think BOTH of these suggestions could be implemented, and I would personally like that option the most! But my top priority would be getting Suggestion #2 from the raccoon

Eager to hear thoughts! If I've overlooked something, please point it out kindly!

Support! Second option would also be good for re-randomizing NBW eye colors if you don't like some of them but are fine with others. Would be good for early-game packs or those who like to use NBWs.

Major support for both ideas! I absolutely agree that sometimes you just get a wolf who is almost perfect except for the eyes - having a cheaper "common only" random eye applicator for sc would remedy this, and having a more expensive gc randomizer similar to the existing "random marking applicator" seems like a really good way for people who missed events or raffles prior to get a shot at cool eyes
Honestly, even if people did spam it, the gc one would mean that they're putting money back into the game for the slim chance of rare eyes (just like RMAs), and the common one is, well, common, so it's not going to mess up the economy or anything I'm sure

Hello!

The idea for a random eye applicator has been previously suggested in this thread so we will lock yours as a duplicate.
