As a puppy that was surrendered by her home clan at just three months old, her sullen disposition could be lent to any number of things.
From the moment she arrived, all of the males her age were obnoxiously playful with her, the females uncomfortably submissive to her. All of the adults shower her in compliments about her appearance.
Umber has already resigned herself to the possible future of being confined to this very nursery as she ages into den motherhood. It's uncomfortable for her to watch the pack's stud, Horizon, pad into the cave daily to check on his children who aren't many moons younger than she is.
Already, she's determined to find a life partner before she's old enough to fall victim to her first heat.
