Adopted by the pupsitter, Tcehra, and the hunter, Onacona, Walela was found as just a small pup clinging to the corpse of her mother after a tornado rampaged through the plains. Onacona failed in the hunt, dropping off while chasing to save the pup, and cost the pack a meal for her, but it was this quick thinking that allowed the pup to even survive. Due to this, Onacona took her back to her mate, busy with all the other pups as she was, and introduced her adoptive daughter as Walela, the little hummingbird. Tcehra was elated to have a pup of their own, seeing as they're both female, and Walela has been raised as the daughter of the two since. She is rather fond of the other adopted pup, Coyotl, the two playing games, pretending to be chieftains of a pack together.
