Eucalyptus couldn't bare the burden of leading the pack after Amorette passed, she couldn't coerce her sister to lead the pack either. Eucalyptus left the pack out of spite because of that, Eternity needed to find a heir, and fast. It had been 2 days with no one to lead their pack, all the wolves were getting nervous. Eternity continued looking, searching for the right leader. Skilled, brave, and hardworking. She needed someone that could care for the pack like no other. Though hesitant at first, for Novus wasn't really a face she would want people to see when coming to visit the pack. Eternity asked Novus a few questions, she was the only person who was as dutiful as Amorette, a perfect leader she could be. Novus declared that should she be chosen to reign, they would be moving to the swamp, for her fur couldn't handle the harsh tundra climate, being used to the Taiga where she was born, but wanting more humid air for her children to be born. Eternity, on her last bit of sanity at this point, gave Novus the thumbs up to take her spot in the "throne", Eternity knew that given the time and patience, Novus could be a great leader. She would need to be able to control her temper, and be able to help her pack to the best of her ability. She knew Novus would later learn to put the good of the pack first instead of doing what she thought was best, which would almost always end in chaos. Now looking back at Novus curled around her newborn pups, she knew she had made the right choice talking to Novus instead of leading a pack she was unwilling to protect.
