It was eight winters after, when the first leader of the pack, Walnut rest her head to never get back up. It was eight long, hard and troubling years, countless packmates lost or gone, many a pup perishing from either hunger or cold. Walnut did her best, truly. There was none in her clan that would ever say otherwise. She was without a family when she traveled to the mountains that first held her and her two first packmates. When she finally hunts with the Stars though, she leaves a family behind, but that family is confident that they will see her again. The pack mourns of course, but then they celebrate their beloved leader.

Walnut was a friendly and benevolent leader, a wolf who showed kindness and gentleness wherever she went. Establishing Quasar Quarry, Walnut did everything in her power to develop a friendly and affectionate pack.

Compared to her mother, Chestnut valued strength and fierceness over a soft and friendly demeanor. She vowed to take her mother's goals and achievements and made them her own, tenfold.
