Secluded deep within the mountains lie the Wolf Warrens, the fractured and endless remains of a mining project long abandoned. Despite the safety and the shelter they provide, most animals steer clear of the tunnel system. Those who enter the man-made caves feel as if they are being watched, even within the heavy darkness. Sound seems to be both muffled and amplified in the stone walls, and every step seems to echo painfully loud within certain tunnel systems. At the same time, the chances of getting lost is incredibly likely.
The anxiety most feel while entering the cave is not entirely unfounded, however. Collapsed tunnels are common, and who knows how many lives have been lost to the unforgiving falling rocks. But deep into the bowels of the mountain lies an incredible stone hall, shaped by an ancient river that only moves through the underground as a small stream today. There, the Day's End wolves lie in wait. Only emerging once the sun has set below the hills, they've coated themselves in darkness and mystery. Strange creatures that they are, they've become adept at navigating the abandoned mines and living just under the nose of their neighboring packs. Their existence is no secret, but rather a mythology of sorts. Most would not dare venture into the chasms.
