Crimson Lake Pack

About

Smells of lavender and hickory, tall trees with working bees provide large sums of sweet honey. Rows upon rows of tulips, lavenders, and roses galore. A large meadow of grazing elk and dueling bison dot the plains, and it feels almost like a heaven. Beyond the large meadows lay a quiet foggy forest, mysterious and a little creepy at best. Very few are able to explore and hunt here alone, as they risk a dangerous confrontation with grizzlies, a stranger pack, and some snakes. Perpendicular to the forest lays high layered mountains, the bottom lines reveal wolf-dug tunnels hidden away by not so obviously placed thorns and lavender. Clear indentations lay atop the mountains, signs of caves blocked out by specially placed thorn bushes and decorated as to each wolf's preferences. Evidence of paleolithic humans have been found, including the use of stone tools. A special den lies in the center, it leads to a pond, possibly man-made. The pack had seemingly made it to be a sacred place, decorating it with the absolute best they could find. During the winter this pack often moves out to the mountain range where elk find refuge and food. They often risk them and their pups being attacked by cougars, but the lower elevations provide little food aside from a few critters.

History

I've been studying this pack for quite some time. We released a few wolves with altered genes in to the wild, bad idea? Yeah I know, I'm just here to record my findings. We've released two wolves, Onyx 303, and River 304. Both wolves have altered genes that increase the size of their prefrontal cortex and the frontal lobe. We've also altered certain smaller parts to help with memory. After the two had struck a clear bond, we placed them into a reserve, a former paleo site, and let them live. We then placed another pack and more wolves, not altered in any way. Interestingly enough, we found 303 and 304 have accepted more wolves into their pack, which is rare in this species. They typically breed and have their children as a part of the pack. Not only that, we found that the regular wolves they have brought in starting mimicking certain behavior and cues, perhaps a herd mentality sort of thing, and we found that those wolves eventually started getting smarter as well. The wolves that have taken over the pack seem to have some form of ritual, something I cannot comprehend, perhaps an early religion, a connection to nature. Similar to early hominids, they have found their way to face paints, burials, and other things that resemble an early religion. Remarkable, yes, the only issue being... I don't think playing God with nature was very smart, and I fear this will backfire.

LF: GB, SB, natural/mostly natural wolves, decor, food, essentially anything to help these wolves along in my research.
NLF: Neon/unrealistic wolves, super spiritual decor, the rest I am fine with. Thank you for aiding in this research.
