"We must get you out of here! Our southern borders have been compromised. The Withered are after us! This way, quickly! "
The petite herbalist scurries off, leaving you to gawk in disbelief. For centuries the Withered and Imperium's have upheld the upmost respect for one another. They traded and arranged marriages just to keep the peace. Why now of all times would they revolt?
Perhaps their food storage was too low⦠Or maybe the tyrant heir finally overthrew the king. Without given a chance to argue or find out more about the situation, you are forced to flee. Once you catch up to the herbalist, she ushers you through a series of twists and turns.
"There, they should not find us here⦠Listen carefully, I need you to find him." Her tone was hushed, but intense and serious.
For a moment you spot raw desperation form within her amber irises. That's when you really notice how sunken in her figure was. Yes she was a short she-wolf, but the Imperium's famine did not help her frail complexion.
"Who?" You pry. "I'll need a nameβ¦"
She hesitates for a heartbeat as the thundering sounds of war grows louder.
"Koda. He was the king's right hand⦠He led a small group of us into the forest. Quick, find him and seek refuge there. Do not let our lineage die like this!"
With a rough shove, the herbalist sends you sprawling forward. At first you were going to shout and snap back, but as you turn your head you are faced with a horrific sight. She was being drug out from hiding by her fluffy white tail. The Withered combatant that had ahold of her would have gotten you instead had she not shoved you out of the way.
You leap forward to try and free her from a certain demise, but freeze whenever the herbalist begins to shout. Your blood runs cold and chills bristle the fur along your spine.
"Run!" She cried out before disappearing into a storm of claws and snapping teeth.
And so, you did.
