Pack's History

Lycanthrope's were the dominating Canidae for years, killing and outcompeting many other animals. Wolves lived in fear, hiding from the creature at any moment they could, as they hadn't quite developed the intelligence and pack coordination to take them on. At some point, humans began killing off many of the Lycanthropes, leaving them fearful and many were forced to go into hiding. This was worsened by the fact that wolves also took this opportunity to get revenge, now developing the skills to kill them in their weakened state. Many Lycanthropes hid in colder climates, hoping to avoid humans this way, and this is when an ancient ancestor of Kie encountered one. She was a lone 3 year old wolf who had left her pack in search of a new territory, when she came across one of the terrifying creatures. He was young though, and seemed to only be a pup, so she spared him and raised him as her own. As he grew older, the two made pact beneficial to both. The Lycans would defend the wolves territory from rival packs, and she would make sure the pack would fight off anyone who attempted to hunt the Lycans. This wolf was Selene, the founder of Northern Lycans. She named her pack this because she saw both species as one. Selene never took on a mate or had pups of her own, she instead took it upon herself to adopt and care for abandoned pups, Kie being one of them. Kie was considered the first Alpha of the pack, because Selene knew she didn't want to rule, and as soon as Kie was old enough, she taught him how to take care of the pack. They established many rules to keep order. Shortly after, the Lycan taught Selene about how Lycans had formed an alliance with birds, who scouted for humans and other dangers. They adopted this for their own pack, where leaders, and Krlyus would form a bond with one bird in their lifetime. This bird would help them with tasks, and grant them wings in the afterlife. In return the bird may get fed and protection from the pack. Being the founder of the pack, but not wanting to lead, Selene was given the role to protect and guide both her pack and the birds. Selene was given immortality, and therefore also given wings for eternity. She refuses to fight unless a serious disturbance caused disharmony for any avian animals. In the eyes of the pack, they aren't even sure she exists. Only the leader and Krylus may see her in their lifetime.

Other roles of the pack in order of importance include, Beta, Krylus, Scouts, Hunters, Pup sitters and then Omegas. Krylus and Beta are often synonymous. Krylus may also take on another role. Their main duty however is to ensure that the connection between avians and the pack stays strong. They often spend much of their time caring for birds, and importantly communicating with the immortal and dead. Krylus are also the ones who birth the next lead. It is said that if decedents do not come from a descendent of Kie and a Krylus, the pack will lose their connection to avians and lycanthropes alike. Anyone can become a Krylus, as long as they are unrelated to Kies decedents. Oftentimes, someone outside of the pack is most recommended for this, as they bring new experience and knowledge..

Krylus

Krylus are the most integral part of the pack. They are given the role of beta until it is time for them to step down. They make vows to do no harm and have the strongest connection to the birds. It is said that a Krylus who leaves their pack could live eternally.
