You walk through the forest, eyes flickering toward every little critter you spot in the bushes. There was a different air here, not bad or tense, just, Different. You are taking in the rays of sunlight that peeked through the branches of the large trees when you spot a cave in the distance. Deciding that since you came here to explore it wouldn't hurt to check it out.
You walk down a small hill and into the shadowed cave. When stepping inside you expect to see some bats or insects, but instead, you are greeted by the lively chatter of many wolves, the unnatural white lighting that covers the walls, and the floating colorful orbs that reside right above your head.
You are so entranced by it all that you don't notice the transparent, glowing wolf that floats beside you until they speak.
"Hello!" He says cheerfully. You startle and turn to him, gathering the attention of a few other wolves but they lose interest in you quickly, turning back to what they had been doing. It's a black-colored wolf that's speaking to you, nothing special at a first glance until you look at their eyes.
His eyes are completely blue and glowing, just like the outline that surrounded his body. He speaks yet his mouth does not move, "Are you in need of a pack?"
You shake your head.
"Ah," He nods. "Well, so long as you mean no harm we welcome you anyways!" His tail wags behind him, "My name is Crow. Do you have any questions?"
You don't respond but your eyes wander to a white wolf, also glowing blue, sitting behind a pretty purple and blue one. Crow follows your gaze and his eyes seem to glow brighter, his tail wags behind him.
"That is Dove, she was the first Alpha of this pack," He says, "She is also my mate."
Your eyes flutter to the wolf beside Dove.
"That is Raven, she is our adopted daughter, she is also the second pack Alpha. She brought the magic, she allowed us to still survive." He explains vaguely. "Oh! You must be wondering about ourโฆ outlineโฆ for lack of a better term. It's much simpler than you think. It depends on our eye color." He lifts a paw and points a claw at another black wolf, but instead their eyes and body were glowing green, to prove his point.
You and Crow stand (or float in his case) in silence for a little while before he speaks once more, "Well, feel free to talk to our other pack members, living or not. I will be with Dove if you need me. Grackle is our current Alpha, if you require help she would be happy to assist you!" He grins, gesturing towards a dark colored wolf as he leaves your side. He floats higher, Dove looks up as he reaches her and they share a laugh.
You look around at the other wolves, some glowing while others are not, what an interesting discovery you've made today.
