The Past

It all started with one: HazelStar. This wolf came from a pack that was the pure opposite of this one. In his previous pack, the wolves there refused to keep any wolf that wasn't considered "strong" by the alphas, and they were killed without mercy. HazelStar was born in these strict conditions, and had to adapt to it as such. Deep down, he believed that this wasn't how a pack should operate. To him, a pack works with mutual trust, not who's stronger than the other. Eventually, he got sick of being in this pack, and he could tell that the others were sick aswell. He wasn't going to riot with them— he was going to escape with them.

So, he gathered as many wolves as he could, or at least the ones who were on the same page as him. Most of these wolves didn't need much persuasion to join the escape party, but some were worried about their friends within the pack. Eventually, though, most who wanted to leave were gathered, and some joined after noticing the gathering.

Off they went. They were barely able to escape the jaws of their pack, and had to fight some of them off, but most were able to escape. From here on out, this is where their journey starts.

The travelers travelled from deserts to tundras, from the mountains to the rainforest, desperately searching for an area far enough from their previous pack that they would never find them again. On the way, they met many other wolves. Some wolves left, some wolves stayed. Even some wolves in the original escape party left to go their own way. Then, the remaining wolves reached the deciduous forest. It was perfect to start their own pack.

Nobody hesitated to deem HazelStar the leader of the pack. Everyone started having pups together, HazelStar and his mate, FallenStar, included. While everyone's names had two parts, their pups' names only had one, in an attempt to ease in the fact that they no longer associated with their pack, and therefore wouldn't name them as such.

Everyone is now a lot happier than they were in their old pack. Everyone was free to be whoever they wanted to be, and their usefulness to the pack wasn't judged only by how strong they looked. To this pack, there is no such thing as a useless wolf. Everyone has their skills, and everyone can use them to help the pack.

HazelStar eventually gave this pack a name, the Future Pack, because he believed that this pack had a bright future ahead of them.

The Present

Now, HazelStar and all of his companions during the travel are deceased, but that doesn't stop their offspring from keeping their legacies alive through stories. HazelStar and his travelers will never be forgotten as long as the rest of the pack has to do with it.

Any wolf who is looking for a pack is free to join, as prey usually runs well enough to feed all of them. The Future Pack is like a tight-knit family; all of them look out for each other. As of now, the Future Pack is full of happy wolves.. well, for the most part. The pack is friendly toward outsiders, but don't take their kindness for weakness.
