The Pack of North Haven
THE PACK OF NORTH HAVEN
"You've come a long way North, traveller" - Winter Valley
Far to the North, in an isolated corner of the Glacier, two packs strive for survival against the landscape and each other. Both believe themselves to be the true Pack of North Haven - one claiming the name by blood, the other succession - with no clear answer as to if either of them are right. They have survived generations, but the barren wasteland of the Glacier never stops trying to freeze the pack into oblivion.
SUN HAVEN
Wolves of the Sun Haven part of the Pack of North Haven say they are the descendents of wolves from the original pack. They have a policy of only allowing in wolves who claim to have heritage in the original Pack of North Haven, though sometimes it can be hard to verify and there have been wolves who have lied in the past. The long nightless Summers of the far North and the Sun that dominates them represent to them the dawning of each new generation, and they have a lot of culture and traditions surrounding light & the Sun.
Dawn Peak - The central meeting point of the Sun Haven, the Dawn Peak is one of the highest points in the pack's lands. The air is freezing due to the altitude, but wolves gather to warm in the bright light of the morning sun.
Sunrise Waterfall - At the top of one of the Sun Haven's valleys, a large waterfall pours melt water in a cascade almost year-round. Hunters make there dens here, and enjoy practicing their reflexes and skills catching fish.
MOON HAVEN
Wolves of the Moon Haven part of the Pack of North Haven say their leadership has been passed along since the last leader of the original pack. They let their wolves choose their paths and encourage them to change them if they do not match. The long dayless Winters of the far North and the Moon that changes during them represent to the changing paths a wolf takes in their life, and they have a lot of culture and traditions surrounding night & the Moon.
Moonrise Cove - Harsh winds blast across the black sands of the Moonrise Cove, but the wolves of the Moon Haven have dug out sheltered spots in the nearby dunes to call home. On clear nights, the black water of the cove reflects the moon & stars brightly.
Midnight Ravine - On the Northern edge of the Glacier mountains lies a valley that is cast in deep shadow. It only sees sunlight at noon and is freezing, but despite the temperature hunters like to practice their tracking skills in the gloom.
GLACIER EDGE
Wolves who don't belong to the packs or have been forcibly exiled leave North Haven lands and must wander across the glaciers. They are immensely dangerous, with powdered snow hiding deep crevices and bone-chilling winds sweeping across the barren surface. Only the strongest and craftiest wolves live out here, seeking new fates or a way to prove themselves to their pack to return.
