A howl echoes through the treetops, it's melancholy tune echoes in the rocky outcrops and sends an odd sensation up your spine. The pine trees cast long shadows, reducing your field of vision. You can see clouds on the horizon. You'll have to find shelter soon.
You catch movement out of the corner of your eye. A gleam of eyes in the dark, a flash of movement in the shadows - you're not alone. You stop in your tracks.
You're hit with a sudden realization. You're here because whatever's watching you is letting you be here.
Hesitantly, you continue.
Weaving between the trees, they watch with narrowed gaze.
Be weary, traveler.
The North remembers.
