The Waya Tribe
The Waya Tribe is a pack of blond furred wolves residing in a large rock formation within one of North America's boreal forests'. They live harmoniously with nature, and believe that life is like the moon they lift their heads to- ever-shifting and flowing in a beautiful rhythm. They might even have their own spreadsheet den here soon so that I can keep tabs on their population and development.
Tribe Lore |
The Waya Tribe believe that the moon and the sun are sacred, luminous forms that keep life flowing from day to day. That without the sun and the moon's dance in the sky, the river of life would dry up. Thus, the wolves whose fur are touched by this light are held in the highest esteem. White, yellow, and pale-furred wolves are thought to be divine, a connection to the great circles in the sky. They are held to the highest standards, and held with the most reverence by the other pack members.
The Woya pack finds omens in everything- the crunch of leaves under paw, the feisty blue jay who dropped his feather as a parting gift, and the trickling of a stream over rocks are all things the Woya wolves are taught to explore and delight in. They do not kill for sport, negotiate when possible, and maintain awareness of their place in great circles.
Tribe Ranks |
Leader
The leader is a divine ruler who has become wizen to the ways of the world, and connected to the great circles above all else. They share stories, fables, and tales with the youngest in the tribe, as well as explore their territory to make sure their sacred land remains in balance.
Healer
The healers are wolves that are wise in the ways of medicine. They take the supplies found in scouting missions, hunts, and border patrols to use in their healing arts. They mostly stay in the main den in case they are needed, and barely ever venture out of the cave walls.
Hunters
Hunters are the wolves that have the tough task of taking down prey and bringing it back for other members of the tribe to eat. Hunters may have special adornments that they use to grant them luck in hunts.
Scouts
Scouts are the fleet-footed, lithe wolves that are sent off into unknown lands to explore; widening the borders of the tribe in the process. They track where the prey is going, and where the surrounding biomes end and begin.
Pupgivers
Pupgivers are the wolves that do not perform any task except for the birthing of cubs to keep the tribe large. They are treated with kindness by the other members of the tribe, and are usually given the first taste of any spoils that make it back after hunting trips.
