Sabrecrown Pack

As you walk you come to a river, you glance across it, into the dark and dying forest. As you take a deep breath, decay, death, and blood fills your nostrils. You silently start to regret seeking out this notorious pack. As darkness descends upon the land, you leap across the river and take your first step into the forest.

A twig breaking behind you startles you, you jump and let out a humiliating yelp. A low laugh fills the forest, a wolf leaves the shadows. As you stare in disbelief at the young wolf, the familiar sound of paws running echoes through the forest a seemingly short distance away. The young wolf laughs once more before seemingly disappearing back into the shadows. 

You follow the sounds of a pack for hours, quickly realizing how easily sound travels in this decaying forest. As the dawn light flows down the surrounding mountains into the forest you finally find an abandoned mineshaft. A wolf exits, with a sandy pelt. "Hello, traveler! My name is Nanook and I will be showing you around." The sandy wolf says excitedly. He walks into the mineshaft, you follow, still cautious you constantly check behind you as you descend deeper.

You come to an open cavern and Nanook stops. "This is the main area, most of the pack members live in here, this is also where you will be staying during your time here." You look around the cave, surprised to see so many happy wolves. Nanook turns his head to you as you start to speak. "I don't plan to stay long, I have my own pack to get back to." Nanook smirks before continuing on to the other side of the cavern. "This is the cave hallway, all the caves except one connect to this." He takes a brief pause, clearly thinking about something, and then continues down the hallway. "To the right, we have the Hunting Cavern, all the hunters stay in here, they also train future hunters when they aren't hunting." You peer into the cavern and see five wolves and five puppies, all have different pelts which surprises you, you witness the oldest of the hunters discipline a young pup. You raise an eyebrow before seeing the pup go straight back to what it was doing and the older wolf laugh.

You continue down the hallway, Nanook stops at the next entrance. "This is the whelping cavern, when the females give birth they move here to raise their puppies for the first few months. This is also where they earn their names and are sorted into future roles." As you look into the small cozy cavern you see a few adults wolves and a bunch of puppies. All the older puppies are playing with a cougar tail. The younger puppies are sitting with their mothers, those that can see are watching the older pups play.
