Bloodraptor Pack
As you're exploring the grasslands, you stop and walk into an open clearing, with many different caves, bushes and burrows where you smell wolves inside. A thin yet well built brown and black figure of a wolf looks down at you with haunting orange eyes.
The wolf shifts their head to the side. "My name is Vicious, I am the leader of the Bloodraptor Pack. What brings you here?" He spoke in a calm, respectful yet somewhat hostile manner.
"A traveler?" A brown and white wolf appeared from behind the rock, his tail wagging. "Hello! I'm Mountain, It's very nice to meet you."
"You're welcome to rest here for as long as you want." Vicious turns to the other sire. "Oh, Mountain, why don't you show them around and tell them how our pack works?"
"Sure thing!"
1. Feed pups, pregnant, nursing and elderly wolves first.
2. Wolves must be less than seven years old and more than two years old to breed.
3. When the lead dies, the pack's beta will choose a new lead, same happens when the beta dies, except the new lead will be the one to choose the next beta.
4. Once a wolf reaches five years, they get to "retiring age" which is when they have to train another wolf to their rank before they die.
5. Autumn is hoarding season, where the pack buries many food bundles to eat in case of emergency, if they aren't eaten during winter, they will all be opened up as a celebration the first day of spring.
6. Nursing wolves go back to their original rank's den when pups wean.
7. If a wolf is ill, they will be treated and quarantined in the healing den.
8. Wolves from zero to two years old are considered "sprouts".
9. Wolves from seven to eight years old are considered "leaves".
10. During spring and autumn, hunts will happen twice as often. In winter, the pack will mostly stay in the den to prevent sickness and eat off of the hoarded food and occasional hunts.
Lead: The one to make most decisions for the pack, they fight, explore and sometimes hunt by themselves.
Beta: A male hunter wolf that is the "breeding male" of the pack. They often help the lead in important decisions.
Herbalist: They mix herbs to create medicine and heal the pack.
Scouts: They are the wolves responsible for exploring new biomes and the pack's territory.
Hunters: The most common role in the pack, they are divided into three sub-roles: Stalkers, Chasers and Finishers. Stalkers track the prey down, Chasers chase it and Finishers finish the kill.
Pupsitters: They take care and protect weaned pups.
Mentors: Wolves older than five years old, they have fully trained an apprentice to take their original role and now teach pups.
