Pack Beginning

Alone, cold, and bruised. Malik walked through the darkness of the night, never thinking he would see the light of day again. Not even a solstice cycle old he couldn't turn back. Unwanted, he walked on, knowing that he would either find the will to survive or let the earth goddess take him to rest.

The forest was dense as he pushed on, driven by nothing but hope and what little nourishment the goddess had given him. This was a test and only the strong will emerge on the other side fully reconnected with the heartbeat of the land. Suddenly a noise in the distance stopped him in his tracks, a whine from the underbrush. Malik pushed the fear aside and followed the noise, tangled in thorns he saw her, a light in his darkness. May Rose. Without hesitation, Malik jumped into the thorn patch gently pulling and ripping them away from the young wolf's body until she was free.

May Rose gave Malik a gentle lick on the cheek, "How will I ever repay you, I thought for sure the earth would swallow me whole." she whined. Not much older than her, Malik stood tall at his accomplishment. "How did you find yourself in such a spot?" He questioned.
May Rose lowered her head. "I awoke from a long rest to find myself alone. I tried to follow my Clanns sent but lost them on the water's edge… Then I stumbled and landed in this thorn burrow". Mailk sighed knowing all too well her feelings of loss. "I am here now. I will be your clann if you will have me." He bowed his head to her. Not having many options, the young wolf nodded "And I yours".

Together the pair traveled into the darkened forest once more, this time with warmth in their hearts. After many moons, finally reaching the dark woods end, they emerged on a small cliff overlooking their future as the sun rows lighting all that surrounded them. At that moment Malik knew he had passed the goddess's test and while there was still much work to be done he would now reap the reward of this land. Together they promised to never let a young wolf suffer as they had, they would find others like them and always be searching for lost souls that needed a clann to call home, for at this first dawn a new world was born.
