EmberLight Canyon
You would think that moving through the desert at night would be easier, but the sand still seems to burn like the sun that's already set. It's hard, cracked, dry and the scorch of the wind offers no relief. It only tangles your fur and pulls at your ears until the fold inside out for you to hear the sand whistle by. Shrubs and stones and hill after rocky hill seem to go on forever.
The cackle of coyotes seemed to draw closer until a dark shape pulled itself out of the shadow of two twisted mesquite trees. The first thing you notice is an odd silhouette and pale white eyes. The dark wolf stared at you for only a moment before seeming to decide your fate. A raven cawed above her and she started to pad down a wash, which cut through the ground in resemblance of rolling eathen river. The wash turned quickly into what seemed like a mini canyon, water long ago cutting its memory into the earth.
"My name is Raidee. I lead a pack in this area. There are caves dug out from the walls of this canyon that we call home. Please, rest here for the remaining night and tomorrow. When the moon rises again, I'll guide you to water and point you in the right direction. Friends are always welcome here. Just please be kind, and rest assured that you'll be taken care of." She promised.
The dark wolf nudged you into a cave where half a dozen other glowing eyes blinked back at you. A pup whined, signaling for the pile of wolves to shift around, making room for you to rest with them.
