Lanqun Pack runs similarly to a monarchy and a matriarchy, currently ruled by Kaipa. Once she passes on, she will be succeeded by one of her kin.
The lead wolf must be female, as the only way "royal blood" is passed down is through the act of birth. A male of royal descent cannot have royal offspring.
Heirs are chosen by Daai'zi'Jin (mother nature) who tests them on how fit they are to be leader.
Despite the royal blood being limited to one lineage, there will be no inbreeding. Royal wolves pairing/ breeding with non-royalty is expected, as it increases diversity in lineage.
Ultimately, Daai'zi'Jin's word is final and there should be no arguing amongst royalty for heir position.
The letter "A" is considered divine and every wolf with royal blood must have it in their name, or they will live a life of misfortune.
