Tribe of Roaring Wind
Hawk That Pierces Sun urges you up the mountain side gingerly, making sure to accomodate to your aching joints and sore pads. The rough terrain beneath your toes is jagged and dulls feeling on your pads, but the King insists that the journey is worthwhile and will soon be ending. Sure enough, he pauses and sniffs at a stray bush. You consider it odd, as there wasn’t much sign of greenery this high up on the mountain.
Suddenly, he brushes the greenery aside to reveal a crag large enough to fix at least two wolves side by side. With a flick of his rounded ears, the King leads you into the abyss of the tunnel. You quickly debate if it’s worth following him, as there’s enough time for you to get a head start in running. His kindness and patience, however, is much appreciated; you find yourself edging closer until you duck your head and begin your descent into the deep cave system below.
“Welcome to the Tribe of Rushing Wind,” hums Hawk That Pierces Sun in a voice loud enough to bounce off of the thick cave walls. It’s almost warm within the depths of their home, tucked away and hidden from the frigid cold of the outside world. Your surprise seemed to double as wolves big and small began to pour out of connected cave systems, some idling back warily and others running up and sniffing you curiously. A mother ushers her pups back to her side, unsure of if she’s willing to trust you.
The King gives you a curious look of his own, beckoning you with a tilt of his head. “I will show you around to the dens soon enough. For now, follow me to the Healers den.” Catching your concerned gaze as you surveyed the gathering crowd, he gives you a warm smile. “They will not be concerned with your presence for long.” With a click of his claws, he pads ahead with his tail swishing gingerly behind him. You give one more look to the assortment of wolves, nodding your head to them awkwardly and quickening your pace to catch up with him.
