Community Update #82

Thanks for youre work ! Thanks for évent (I love it)
But i agree with Narasimba !
I would like the backgrounds to be able to all be put with my wolf, without having to make it transparent.

Thank you for the event which was really nice!

I also agree with Narasimba and Loopina, not being able to put the background with our wolves, without making it transparent, I find that a shame.

Could we have an option to put the decor either in front or behind our wolf?
Please :/

Hello, thank you for the event and the work provided.
But I agree with Narasimba, I strongly dislike how majority of decors completely cover my wolf. I would have preferred them to be placed behind my wolf. There, that just makes them unusable for me.

To kind of help explain this decision, it was intended for people that sort of wanted to "claim" or "befriend" these wolves from this event. Making them a decor meant to be used with the translucent jellyfish was a way to sort of implement this without potentially giving out a lot of wolves with rare traits.

Please note this is how I interpreted their news post and I'm not trying to put words in the devs' mouths; this is just how it seemed to me.

You can read about this in this news post here, under the section "Dating... for no reason?"

I had read the article but I thought it would be like the wolf sets we already had ("moon moon" for example).

I kind of understand the reasoning behind this, but it simply doesn't appeal to me. I have no reason to hide my own wolves. I actually think these decors are misleading, as they may look like simple alternative poses. Newbie and returning players may think the wolf looks like this decor, and use them as a stud, but then the real animal beneath may have completely different genes. I know when I started playing I had great difficulty understanding what parts are decor and what can be inherited.

I agree that there's a chance it'll be confusing for newer players for sure. There are some custom decors on Lioden that are similar (e.g., "Piebald for Primal"). A lot of people will put a disclaimer that it's a decor and cannot be passed.

Hopefully players in WD are kind enough to make sure people know if a wolf with such a decor is set as as stud!

Decors of creatures replacing our wolves are not a new thing. But as I'm not very fond of felids, I don't mind your argumentation.
