Lune finished up the table then reluctantly helped his two eldest cousins, Mika and Petra, clean the last bit of the house. Once done everyone was called to the parlor to wait for the guest. The adults stood in the front of the others. "Everyone please remember to be respectful and kind towards our guest as this a great opportunity for growth between our families." Lune stood to the side away from the others. He could see his three younger cousins grinning and snickering to themselves. 'What are they up to?' He was tempted to walk over and find out but decided otherwise. Whatever they did couldn't be that bad and it's not like the grudge held by the families could get any worse. At least he hoped it that it couldn't.
"Mind your manners with the other family, I know I don't have to remind you." Troy's mother had dropped her earlier question in favor of being him a bit of a peptalk. "Your brothers might meet us there." She smiled in hope it would cheer him up and it did, only a little bit though. He was still close to his brothers despite the distance between all of them. His older brother had been given away at a young age because their mother couldn't look after him at the time and his younger twin brother was currently undergoing training at a neighboring pack. Because of all the separation in the family, other pack members were often leading the family for the mundane everyday decisions. A meeting with the vampires was far too important for Troy's full family not to be present. The carriage jolted to a halt, signaling that they had arrived at their destination.
Mrs. Tantibus squeaked with excitement and dashed to the door. "Lune get over here!" Lune looked confused by his mothers request but obeyed knowing that she would yell at him he didn't. "I heard that there is a young man around your age and I want you to try to make friends with him." At this Lune looked at him mother with shock. "You want me to try and make friends with someone? Why me? Mika or Petra are better at making friends than me! There was an irritated look in his tone. "Because you are a male and you need to be more social anyways!" His mother snapped at him and her eyes were filled with annoyance. "Now wait here and be nice!" She returned her attention back to the carriage outside.
The young werewolf went to open the door for his half-breed mother but she halted him, wanting to be seen before her son. She would help him through this meeting as much as she could, maternal instincts even though he was considered an adult now. The coach driver ended up opening the door for them and she stepped out, suddenly putting on a brave face. Troy exits next, eyes taking in the sight of the manor before him. The vampires did not need to know how weak their family ties were currently and it was important they didn't find out either.
The doors or the manor opened and the Mrs. Tantibus & Mr. Tantibus were the first to see the two. Everyone could be seen standing politely inside the parlor, a welcoming smile on all their faces. All except Lunes that is. He looked tired and anyone one could tell that he didn't want to be there. "Welcome! Please come in." His mother moved out of the way and waved into the house.
Stepping inside, there was definitely overwhelming scents that hit Troy. His brain couldn't process all of them at least and he seemed to go blank for a moment. "Our arrival was not too early I hope? Other members of the Corvette family should be expected momentarily." Ms. Corvette said, a neutral smile upon her face. Her only ill-will towards the vampires was when they harmed those within her family's pack and Troy could empathise with that. People he'd known since birth now dead, friends and family all because of an old feud. There was a hopeful chance it could be settled today but he wouldn't get his hopes too high.
Lune was about to wonder off when he felt a great tug on his shirt that almost sent him flying backwards. "Hey!" He spun around to find his father giving him a very furious and disappointed glare. Before he could say anything he was being shove forward. He felt awkward just standing there so he waved slightly and tried to smile but it looked weird. "Hi...and welcome I guess." He glances over and was unsurprised to see his mother shaking here head at him and frowning greatly. She signaled for him the shake hands. He shook his head back but after a death glare he held his head out to both of the guest.
Ms. Corvette seemed to understand this cue, taking a look at her own son and his half dazed state of being overloaded by smells. She pulled him closer by the arm, not as forceful as the heads of the Tantibus family had but still enough to snap him out of it. "Thank you, young man." She tenderly shook the salmon haired boy's hand, gesturing for Troy to do the same. He pushed past any uncertainty in favour of being friendly and stepped up to exchange greetings. "I like your tattoos, my name is Troy Corvette." He introduced himself warmly.
Lune wanted to roll his eyes and walk off but stayed put and returned the warmness. "I'm Lune Tantibus. And thanks." He shook Troy's hand and looked at his mother for whatever she wanted him to do next. She nodded off into the manor and he knew exactly what she wanted him to do. He mouthed "no" and gave her a very angry look. "Yes" she mouthed back before turning to Ms. Corvette. "Please follow me to the sitting room while food is finishing up. Lets have our sons get to know each other shall we?" She held her hand out to Ms. Corvette and waited patiently. "Lune is a good young man and I'm sure they have much in common!" Lune looked between himself and Troy, then at his mother. He gave her a look that said "Are you serious right now?"
He got the hint that Lune wasn't exactly thrilled to be present and he could understand in a way. Their families weren't on good terms, they both probably smelt funny to each other and surrounded by older people. If his wolfish characteristics were present then his ears would be turned backwards and tail slowly wagging with uncertainty. "Yes, my mate shouldn't mind that. I know my boy will behave." Ms. Corvette agreed, gingerly accepting the hand offered. She had more reason to be wary of the adults than the children.
Troy wasn't keen on being away from his mother's side. Not in the way a clingy child would be, but in the a way a dutiful son would be. He was quiet for a moment as he thought of something to say. "I'm sure what the matriarchs discuss will be dribble to our ears." he commented lightheartedly.
