"What...?" Toyak tilted her head and squinted at Celtic. "Royalty? What do you mean?" The adolescent backed away from him a little, nervous of the raised tail and ears, a clear sign of aggression. Toyak still didn't like Celtic. She couldn't understand why he was so grumpy or secretive. To her, it had felt like he had something he hadn't wanted everyone in the pack to know. And what was the point of keeping secrets if you were friends? Toyak was a wide-open book, every fact about her spilled out before her pack. That was how she showed she trusted them. That they should trust her. This was her home. But Celtic, on the other paw, was like a hole in the ground, secrets buried deep below, all kinds of things he didn't want to tell everyone about. How could she trust him- why should she trust him- when he didn't trust her? Or anyone in the pack, for that matter? Why had they just allowed him in with no explanation? Toyak usually didn't argue with the Alpha's decisions. He was much older than her, so much wiser, and he should know what to do, right? Toyak was just a child. But she found herself fearful of Celtic. He could do anything. She didn't know. |

" Why so skittish, royal? '' He lifted himself up to full height. He was similar to Solis in size, but smaller than Sun, So, towering. His tail stretched out, the tip rising in height. He enjoyed tugging at wolve's strings, and this could be quite interesting. He tossed out a fang-filled smirk, Ivory fangs glitting as he shifted, the sun catching it briefly before he turned to the side again. The older wolf kept his ears in a slightly more lowered position, but still perked. He stepped forward, back to where he originally was, " Gonna Answer? I can wait. " |

"O-oh, heh, no, I'm not related to anyone here," Toyak replied anxiously, rather afraid of the large wolf. They were alone in the cave. He was closer to the exit than she was. And Toyak had no idea what he might do. "I… uh. That… sounds like… um, not a very… fun pack to be part of." She ducked her head and coughed awkwardly. "N-no offense." Toyak was silent for a long moment, then impulsively decided to share her thoughts. "I… I just don't understand you. Why do you keep secrets? Why… don't you trust us? Your pack? We're family, so… I just… I don't know. It made me… hate you, I realize, now. I shouldn't have been so judgmental, but… I was… scared. I didn't— I still don't— know what you're like, and that… that means I don't know what you might do. I…" Toyak closed her mouth and hung her head. "I know… what I said was wrong. I was being impulsive and… I… but I still don't… why? Why can't you just… say everything? What makes you not… trust us? I just… I don't know if I can trust you. I'm…" she paused and took a deep breath, her paws shaking. "I'm scared. Of you, but also… of having secrets. Myself. If you can keep things from us… does that mean I don't have to be honest anymore? But… what would happen to me if I was like that? What would happen to the relationships I have? I… I'm scared. Of that." She stopped herself from talking before she could cry, then added, "I'm sorry," for a reason she couldn't understand, her voice cracking. (( wait is the last part said by Celtic as well? The "why so skittish, royal?" ~ "gonna answer? I can wait" part. )) |
