So a wolf by the name of Grellow seaked her out. but, unlike other wolves, he was wise with the way he approached the goddess. . . ." Flare pulls her eyes away from the sky to look down at the pups, she crouches down closer to them, as if she was going to tell them a secret. "when he found her, he, instead of trying to kill her, asked for wisdom. 'Goddess Serket,' he had said with a slight bow to the small immortal creature, 'i don't come for your life.'. he had lied to the goddess . . ." |

Getting a bit impatient with Flare's frequent pauses, Scorpion thumped her tail on the sand, letting a bit of dust billow up. She glanced up at the bright blue sky before looking down again. (I'm running out of Scorpion reactions lmao~) |

" Flare quotes the old stories, "and the Goddess granted him this. she didn't have many peacful visitors, and she was a kind soul, but as soon as Grellow got this wisdom and intelegance, he picked the small form of the goddess right up, and ate her." Flare flicks her tail, huffing slightly. "As he went to leave the oasis, to return to his old home, he felt a angry stomach pain, one that he had never felt before. but it was so intense it immidately made him fall on his side and whine loudly for help." |

The she-wolf chuckled at the look the pups' faces. She elbowed Ostrich, grinning wryly as she rolled over. "Of course, never eat live scorpions. Very bad idea," she barked out a laugh, shaking out her fur. "Don't eat me, either," she warned with a grin, "my name might be Scorpion, but I'm not that easy to swallow." |

"he looked down at his stomach when he felt something move . . . and before him, Serket cut him open from the inside out, cleaning herself off as she tells Grellow that she knew he had lied. thats why when he asked for intelegance, she had told him all he had to do to gain her immortal life was eat her. and because of his greed and blindness, he would bleed out there, alone." |

"I saw new routes that were hidden during winter. Possibly taking to a larger lake that seemed perfect for certain prey. Very beautiful scenery, a lot of flowers. Remind me to bring some to you and the herbalist when I go again." He took a small pause to yawn and smear his face against the nest, his face itchy. Maybe he should bring more materials to the nests, too. Very mundane things in his thoughts, but he liked it. Not having to worry about larger things, just his pup and more comfortable nest. "A large pack of coyotes were hunting and saw me as pretty good prey. But their tricks aren't new to me so I avoided it nicely. That's one thing you need to look out for when you become the next scout." He said with a more serious tone. "Scouting isn't always just exploring and picking flowers, it's surviving without backup." |

Clapping, Scorpion let out a loud, barking laugh. "Great choice of a story to tell to the little 'uns, Flare," she quipped, giggling at the horrified looking pups. Speckle had her tongue out in disgust, Ostrich had her paws over her ears, and Slash was staring wide-eyed at Flare. "That's why you don't try to trick the goddess. You can't cheat death and you can't steal wisdom." |

Fossil PackFlaming Stars (Flare) ~ She/They ~ HerbalistFlare huffs softly, "they were gonna hear it one way or another. be happy it didnt come from someone who would go into more detail about what Grellow saw like when i heard it." she shivers, "plus, its my favorite story, and you kind of put me on the spot, if you didnt notice." she stands up and flicks sand up at Scorpian and the pups with her tail as she starts on her way back to her nest to continue making decorations. |
