@ninsun this game is breeding-focused, so customization is pretty expensive! after all it would be a bit unfun if we could all have our dream wolves immediately

there are different types of applicators, some more expensive than others.

you can get event and lunar applicators for free, but they require lots of work and daily exploring to get the currency. though they are free to acquire, their resell value is high! some event applicators can sell for up to 70gc. that amount of gc is more than enough to customize many wolves, so it might be a good idea to sell them if you don't want them.

random marking applicators (rmas) are the cheapest at 3gc and grant you one random marking. these can sometimes give you rare markings.

in grove > wolf customizer it costs 20-25gc (i don't remember haha) to fully recustomize a wolf.

there are other marking applicators but those are probably the best for your value. my advice to you is, since you're a beginner, if you don't like the way your wolves look, it's good to just chase them and adopt prettier ones from the enclave or buy chased nbws if you care about generation ^^ the cheapest way to customize a wolf is.. not customizing! i have lots of gc but i rarely customize my wolves unless they're going to be my stud. buying or breeding pretty wolves is much cheaper.

when you first start the game, your first hunters and your first lead and herbalists etc. are usually pretty simple. but as you play more, you'll be able to downsize your pack and afford pretty much any wolf you want (within reason.. unless you become super rich and buy a 500 gc wolf )

i hope that helped!

That does make sense, thank you! And I *suppose* it makes sense that I'm nowhere near buying expensive applicators for my wolves after one week of playing :p I'm just attached to my plain looking wolves I got at first haha. Oh well, maybe I can make their children pretty! Thank you so much for your help and in-depth explanation, I'm definitely going to refer back to this (in fact maybe it should be a guide or something? I can't be the only one wondering, and it's a really good explanation!)

And 70g!! Definitely gonna be hot on the events if I can haha!

@ninsun i would totally make a guide for newbies, but it might take a while ^^ the grouse house is pretty much the pinnacle of guides right now. my help is a tiny bit subjective lol, some guides are more data-based

a few months after an event expires is when it's best to sell! the most expensive item in the event shop tends to sell for the most. lunar bases can be from 45-70 ^^ you can always look up an item you have in the trading center if you wanna see its value

The Grouse House guides are absolutely incredible and I've been referring back to them a lookout, but they are very data driven and objective! Which is a good thing, but I think there is definitely room for an "advice and opinions" newbie guide as well haha, though not putting any pressure on you. Though you could probably use a lot of stuff you've written on this thread, just saying :p

That's really good to know, thank you! Next lunar event is in a couple of weeks according to the Grouse House guide so maybe I can start prettifying my lead at least after that

Does anyone have influenza cures to spare? Like 6 of my wolves are infected, including my alpha. It's spreading through my pack rapidly and I'm desperately in need of help. I'm new so I don't really know what to do.

@bagel this is a questions thread, not a giveaway thread. it's prohibited to "beg" for items in this game and might get you in trouble. you could instead search in forums for someone who gives away free medicine. (just looking out for you)

i'm happy to help if anyone needs food or amusement and asks through pms but please do not use this thread to ask others for items. everyone here is pretty much also a new player. asking for 6 uses of a cure is pretty big, you'd be taking up hours of another player's time.

to craft an influenza cure, you need some herbs (guaiacum and pineapple leaf) and if you don't have them, you can exchange for them quickly at the bottom of the herbalist page. your alpha can't die of sickness, and it seems like you've left it untreated for a few rollovers. it's also not lethal, just highly contagious so you have plenty of time to craft. hope that helped!

Hi Jupiter, hope you're doing well, I have yet another question if that's okay! With the lunar event coming up on Friday, any tips or recommendations?

Biggest tip I can share is trying to get at least all of the 100 lunar essence (explore during day), and you can see how much essence you've collected in the event tab. The bottom will say (0/100),so try to get it to 100. This way you're not losing chances of exploring in the lunar world/realm, and I would say to try fighting as many enemies within your lvl as they'll give you at least 1LT if you win.
Technically, you are able to get ~700LT since it's a week long event and 100 essence per day. I'm not a decor person, so I mostly buy apps then leave my remaining LT for next Lunar Event. There will be major events in which all Lunar apps will be available, so I usually save up for those!
