☽ Nyx Neri ☾

Nyx let out a slight growl as the guard snapped at Kai. No one talks to my pack like that! But now was not the time. Boy would these guards have their hands full with a 150-pound snow leopard attacking them. She flexed her hands as if they were claws, already thinking about sinking them into skin-

Stop, Nyx. Get a hold of yourself.

After getting into line, her eyes sharpened as she watched the holders and the shapers. She noticed the new girl staring at the Reds, and after nudging her Nyx murmured, "Fire holders; they control or make fire. Considered more dangerous than us, but that's debatable. I can be sure a tiger that's nearly as tall as they are can certainly kill them before they can make a fire show." She followed this up with a stern glare at the Reds. Remember, we are guards here, too, she thought with a sing-song voice.

Nyx followed Kai into the room that always seemed to smell of blood. As a snow leopard, her smell heightened considerably, and it was both animal and human. The black's training room.

Nyx gave a sidelong glance at the new girl, wondering what she thought of the place. The books had hardly been touched; some even had dust on them. The book relating to canines had never been touched by Kaisa or herself. Nyx had taken one look at the cover Canid Bevavors and Species, snorted, then moved on. The felines were much better. Leopards, lions, panthers, and even small jungle cats.

She fell into line, swallowing the feeling to kick Kai to make her stand still - Stop giving the cat bad ideas! - and clasped her hands behind her back, spreading her feet slightly, waiting for the word. It felt a little like a dog, waiting for the leash to be taken off. Right now, the collar was choking her. The animals at her fingertips clawed at her insides, waiting, fighting to be released. In, and out. Breathe, Nyx. You've been through this before, two years. Sit, stay, attack. A few simple commands shaped the Black's lives. Would the new girl be up to it?

Lucifer

It was highly unlikely anyone would argue that he got off easy with running his mouth when the only thing that happened to him was a guard shoving the buttend of a rifle into his shoulder as he approached from behind, nearly knocking him over. It was certainly hard enough to force him to take a step to steady himself, and then be berated by a second guard for being out of line. The second knew damn well what had happened, but it didn't matter. It never mattered. They always looked for a reason to yell, to punish, to poke the caged animals with a stick over.. and over.. and over....

Luci brushed his offended sleeve off, in some wishful guise of trying to wipe away the prior contact made by the guard. As they were led out, he took the opportunity as he always did to see the other kids. The other colors they only briefly got to mingle with. The guards were nastier as they moved the ones slotted into the more dangerous allocations. He expected it. He ignored it. The new faces were more important, and the closer he could get, the more he could decide if somewhere deep in their bilious fears and frivolous attempts at bravery, there was that thing that he sought. His gaze shifted across the lines of whites, then blues, then-

There she was. It was that red-head that played blind off the bus. His stare at her was far less accidental, shadowed by the long black hairs that fell over his brow. That very brief instance where she locked eyes with him was exactly enough for him to wink at her. And even as she was led in a different direction than he, the serpent's stare lingered until she'd passed out of his periphery, and Kaisa's wave pulled his attention. He couldn't remember that one's name, but he was familiar with her face from the times their lines had passed each other by. The devil's smirk pulled at just one edge of his lips slightly, his ice-rimmed seablue eyes glancing at her just briefly in the exchange before the moment was over.

"S'pose you were right. Not a bloody new Red in sight." The deep accent commented lowly towards the Red he'd annoyed earlier.  Archie couldn't exactly get rid of him. Literally captive audience. So convenient for someone who apparently likes to hear himself talk. He said nothing further, however, while they awaited further instruction.  His poise was as undeterred as it always was by his position as a prisoner, his arms folded across his chest, his posture particularly precise, his arrogance still a thing palpable in the air 'round him.

「」Kaisa 「」

A small sigh and they fell still, hands falling to her sides and back straightening. Simple things. Easy. Just waiting.

Just waiting.

Deep breath in, don't just let the animals take over. Silent and still.

Her eyes roamed the room again, waiting to be told what to do, head dropping as they sunk into thought. The old books, hardly used now days, barely used in the first place. Maybe they'd be able to read again, with the newcomer. Would the little lynx prefer two forms like herself or favour just one, like Nyx? Little lynxie among the big cats. Big lynx, little lynx. Big lynx, little lynx.
Kai's eyes practically gleamed at that, Nyx would surely love their discovery. A slow blink and the more human mind finally slipped away, the bird and the cat vying for first place.

Stay quiet, still, watch and wait. You'll learn and see.
Move, show the little lynx what to do. Take Nyx somewhere safe. Get pack out, tear the rest apart.

That was conflicting. Dull nails pressing into palms, wanting to look back and check on Nyx but it was time to be still, it was time to fight,.... it was time to...... Kaisa didn't remember.

She should wait. The guards would tell them, they always did. Even if they were rude about it. That's okay. Nyx was safe. The little lynx was new, but she would learn, then she'd be okay. It would be okay.

Archimedes

"Of course I'm right. Either they're all being taken to a different facility, or we're rarer than we think." He shot back, rolling his eyes slightly. He noticed his peer take interest in one of the blacks, shirking an eyebrow with a slight frown. "Got a crush?" He teased, lips shifting into a smirk. He knew today was sparring day, so obviously he was going to try to get the guy angry.

Reds always worked better with their powers when they were angry, it was an unfortunate fact. Then again, the anger was exhilarating. Feeling the rage rushing through your veins as heat surged in your lungs, filling your veins. He had a natural hot streak, it was easy for him to switch his emotions on so he didnt need the extra boost from provocation. He slowly circled him, eyes flashing dangerously.

Calliope

The red head huffed softly as the other, "I'd say theres more to them than the fire shows." She calculated, lips turned downward in thought. When they reached the training room, she was immediately drawn over to the books. Callie had always enjoyed reading, but from the state of the books they were likely almost unreadable. She made her way to the table, immediately setting her hands on a book about small wild cats.

She started flipping through the pages, eyes flashing from one side to the next as she read. She quickly finished scanning it, taking a deep breath and feeling as if something inside of her was itching to be released. She pushed it off, turning around to watch the other shapeshifters start their training. Her eyes scanned over the tension in their bodies, feeling something calling her but she wasny quite sure what it was.

Dragon

He followed behind his two companions glaring at the guards as he walked past. With a small sigh, his hands dropped to his side tightly while looking at the new girl. He straightened his shoulders and back looking away again. He tried to stay as still as he could muttering under his breath. When one of the guards looked in his direction he glared back until they looked away.

Not wanting any part of this due to the fact he's the only canine at the moment. Well, he is the only canine unless the new girl prefers canines, He thought to himself.

"Just have to survive another day".

That was all he remembered when he first got here was the one sentence he memorized to himself. It was a sort of promise he told himself over and over again when he gave up the idea of escape. He normally didn;t like shifting but he would gladly take the chance to hide from his human form.

The Lieutenant

He had no idea how long he had been sitting there with his mask off. Minutes? Hours? Days? He never could tell time, especially not in this place. But looking at the clock on his desk, he could tell it hadn't been days, just hours. He took a deep breath, putting the half mask in place on his face and grabbing his cane. He looked over at the large animal in the corner of his office, looking at him with those large sad eyes. "Dont look at me like that, Drista. It's not my fault they did that to you. You know I tried to stop them." It was true. He had banged on that glass for hours, trying to get them to stop. That was before. When he wasnt the one in charge.

He blamed them, for him being so cruel. Watching them do that to his daughter, had been the last straw. The last drop of sanity in him shattering. "Come. It's time to go see your fellow Shapeshifters." He said, making a clicking sound and opening the door. The wolf trotted out and down the stairs as he followed behind. She knew where to go, so he just followed behind her. His cane clicked on stone floor as he entered, Drista sitting beside him without a sound. He watched the blacks train, his eyes narrowed slightly as he refused to look down at the animal beside him. He couldn't think of her as his daughter anymore, it would break the last pieces of him that were left.

☽ Nyx Neri ☾

At the release from the guards, after a slight push at her spine, Nyx took a small breath. Carefully channeling, slipping into the storm. Her green eyes became unfocused. She was frozen in place. Her pupils dilated, then sharpened. With a sharp yelp of pain Nyx couldn't muffle, she doubled over as her spine lengthened. Her hands curled becoming paws with sheathed claws. In a few seconds where Nyx had been standing, a snow leopard stood in her place.

Ahh, what it means to be a free again, little human.

The snow leopard turned at the tapping sound of the Lieutenant's cane. And the soft pitter-patter of an animal. She opened her muzzle. Wolf. A wolf? Nyx's thoughts supplied the beast with who this was. D-drista?

She had disappeared some time ago and there she was...in her wolf form. The snow leopard sat and slowly licked her front paw with her rough tongue waiting for Kaisa to shift. The Lieutenant was here...for what? The tip of her tail flicked, back and forth. Green eyes stared at the wolf.

"What happened to you?"

Green eyes. Always the eyes were the same, just as the scars were too. A burn scar on her back leg. Lightning trees covered her chest, just as they did in human form. Trophies of the hunt.

Dragon

When the guards released them he felt his spine snap and twist slightly before popping out making him yelp. Shivering he dropped to his knees and extended his spine his back shrinking uncomfortably till he dropped to the floor in his wolf form. He stood up slowly.

"Always the most unpleasant shift isn't it would be easier if you relaxed into it"

The tall dark colored wolf yawned licking his canines he stretched his muscles getting himself loose. He took deep breaths relaxing himself. Looked up as the Lieutenant walked in with by the smell of it Drista? He shook out his pelt and sat his ears flicking to the side and back straight again as he stared at the wolf.

「」Kaisa 「」

The tap-tapping of the Lieutenant's cane and the quiet clicks of hardened nail against floor had the leopard finally pushing through the blurry block on her mind. She let the creature push at her ribcage, practically clawing to get out, but only once the Lieutenant entered the room did she let her shape change.

A crack of bones and a leopard stretching for the floor, almost appearing from thin air. Kaisa and the leopard purred, long tail waving before they settled into a slouching sit position, baleful brown eyes aimed at the Lieutenant.

"Sweet cub, what happened to you?"

The pair asked. Attention briefly diverted by Dragon's difficult shift, they refocused on Drista silently. A paw raised, covered in the marks of where Drista herself tore into Kaisa's skin leaving scars spilling and wrapping around her upper arm. The leopard cleaned away the non existent dirt before falling still again, waiting to see if Drista would - could - reply.

Calliope

Calliope coughed slightly, feeling as though something was trying to claw up her throat. She fell to her knees, everything fading away as something whispered to her. It flooded her brain, visions of running through the forest, wind rushing through her fur and paws hitting the soil.

Hello, Dear.. I've been waiting for you.

Her brows furrowed as she tried to keep herself together, her bones threatening to give way under something unknown. An animalistic laugh filled her ears as she felt herself losing to whatever beast wanted to be free of her human skin.

Come now, it would be easier for both of us if you just.. let go.

Something within her snapped at that, as she felt herself agreeing with the voice. It'd be better. Just let go of yourself. Let her out. She found herself thinking, so... she did. She felt bones started bending and ligaments started breaking as she cried out in pain, skin growing fur as it stretched to fit her now smaller but definitely more muscular body. Her long red hair receded into her skull as she grew ears. And almost as fast as it had started, it was over. The only things similar to the lynx's human counterpart were the red tinted fur and milky white eyes.

The Lieutenant

The man made eye contact with the now animal shapeshifters, noticing that most of their focus was on the large wolf beside him. He wasnt surprised that they remembered her, he only wished he could forget.

Drista's eyes narrowed at the other shifters, well, she was less of a shifter now and more of an animal. She noticed some new arrivals, but only flicked her glance over them before bringing it back to the familiar faces. She bared her teeth in an animalistic grin, "What? You dont like my new look?" She growled back to the two leopards, she clearly hadn't lost her sense of humor along with her humanity. She could feel the last of that humanesque quality slipping away from her every day. She knew one day she wouldnt be there anymore, it would only be the wolf that had been with her for years.
