goodie bags! (player-to-player interactivity in explore?)

(i woke up from a dead sleep for this lmfao)

forgive the brief explanation; i'm not knowledgable about game development or the intricacies therein so i have no frame of reference as to what is and isn't realistic to implement. but i thought this could be a fun consideration!

the idea that woke me up is the new ability to chase a wolf with an item or a bundle or items for the player who befriends the wolf in explore to discover. this could be a care package (food, amusement, herbs, etc) or a gift of luck (lucky foot! maybe finding a lucky foot in a care package increases your luck going forward for a limited time, like 2 minutes??), even a valuable item like an applicator or guarana.

but then i thought, why stop there? it could be fun for players to leave  goodie bags while exploring, filled with whatever they want to send out, for another player to stumble across in explore encounters. something relatively limited i imagine — maybe the prompt to leave a goodie bag in explore is a rare-ish encounter, incentivized by a decently high quality prize in return, which is then maybe variable depending on the type of item(s) included. that was one hell of a runon sentence.

i sorta imagine this functionally similar to chased NBWs, only instead with items.

for added player to player interactivity, not just in context but also in the game as a whole, perhaps there's a cute way to implement the ability to leave little notes with your goodie bag — or even NBWs — that is anonymous and limited in such a way to prevent abuse. (maybe a limited dictionary of allowed words for players to create silly, kind, or helpful little phrases. i. e. dark souls)

if this seems like a rather large permanent change, it could also make a really unique event. i imagine a loosely easter-themed event right off the bat, but could also be an creafive non-holiday-related event as well.

that was a bit of an info dump but it's 2:04 am. thank you for coming to my ted talk
