Here is an example of what it may look like. The text in red is the exact text copied from the Chat Room rule reminder. (names censored for privacy) An alternative to this addition is requiring each user to have read the Code of Conduct (as in, each user must manually press a button that states "I have read and understood the Code of Conduct") , as it discusses this rule and includes that you may receive a punishment for breaking the rule. Our kind mods rarely enforce this rule with punishments, but that doesn't mean it isn't a punishable rule. According to the CoC language, it is entirely possible to have your account permanently banned for forgetting that it's against the rules to offhandedly mention a trade or raffle or linking your stud in main chat, and that would be terribly unfortunate. Thank you for your time and for considering my suggestion. Have a good day. |

But a one-time alert for new players would be nice. I do see a lot of new players asking for wolves/food/meds because they don't know it's not allowed in main. Maybe something like this, that you have to click to gain access to the chat: |

I like Lionel's idea as it allows the user to dismiss the rules, but having it only appear once at the very start of the game is going to lead a lot of players to just skip it or forget as time goes on. Maybe the user has to dismiss the notification more often, like whenever they try to chat after they roll over? I think you can access chat from the RO page though so it wouldn't appear for people chatting without rolling, so maybe just a 24h timer would work I do think having the rules be more visible would help a lot for people, as right now you can only really learn what the rules are by making mistakes or going to the actual chat tab, which isn't intuitive (god knows I had no idea about it until a few months post-launch ) |

The visibility of the rules is mostly what I'm going for here with this suggestion- it's good for the playerbase to be aware of the rules without being afraid they'll make a mistake. |
