if this RP looks familiar, that's because it is on another site. I'm moving it here. Do not post unless I invited you. This might open to the public, but do not count on it.

this is .mageía kranía.'s RP. I was given permission by them to make another topic for information of the RP.

S T A R L I G H T«…system loading…»You are alive. Intelligent life exists far beyond your planet's boundaries. Beyond your galaxy, even. You have been sent for whatever reason to explore the massive and endless frontier of space.

Some of you might be part of the Universal Maintenance and Defense System, otherwise known as UMDS, for you simple-minded humans in the back. You travel among others, never alone despite the void outside your starship's windows.

Others of you are lonesome. You have no partnerships out here in the abyss.

But you have one thing in common - while you look young, act young, while a few hours may pass to you - you are thousands of years old. Space does something to aging. Your family is most likely dead, unless you're the breed of alien that lives for millennials, in which case, good for you. Someone on your birth planet is still alive and loves you. They just probably won't ever see you again.

This space-year will be different. A mysterious signal has come across every universe traveler's system, rogue or not. Some of you, those in the UMDS especially, are headed to a hostile planet where the signal source is.

You may seek riches, you may be curious, you may be looking for violence. Whatever it is, this signal interests you.

Have fun.--

R U L E S

★All WD rules apply

★Out Of Character [OOC] drama will earn you a kick for both parties.

★Aliens of all kinds are accepted just as long as they have enough intelligence to speak and pilot a heavily complex starship that requires opposable thumbs.

So no animals.

★Reservations last a day.

★Semi-lit and literate are both allowed. No complaining if someone types up 7 paragraphs - they are allowed to, and you do not have the authority.

★NO one paragraph replies

★Characters need to have in-depth, sensible, and exciting personalities and thought-out backstories. This might be Sci-Fi, but basic logic is still a must. Make your characters fun. Basic "nice" or "evil" characters will be denied access.

IF YOU ARE PART OF THE UMDS - please keep in mind you cannot be careless and destructive. Penalties include death. Your job is to defend and care for your universe and have basic team-working skills. Only certain personalities can be accepted into the UMDS. [More info in next post]

IF YOU ARE ROGUE- do whatever the hell you want, just make sure it makes sense as to how you got into space in the first place - proper training is required for a starship.

U M D S

The defenders of the very universe we all live and breath in. You are required to follow the orders of HIVE, a mechanical information system that alerts members of UMDS if there is a large threat within the galaxy you currently reside in. You must clean up any messes you come across and gather samples of animals who you discover. Log all of your findings - they may prove useful in gaining the favor of HIVE.

You also must destroy any threats or hostile aliens who cross your path. If they raid UMDS' ships often or slaughter planets or destroy specimens, it is your duty to kill without hesitation. HIVE wills it, and you have trained and sworn under HIVE.

Ideal Personality Traits for UMDS:-Clever-Team-working skills-Motivation-Skilled with Weapons-Able to write and log animals in detail.

-

R O G U E

Loyal to no one, you travel the galaxy alone. You pilot tiny starships with only enough space for you and your necessities. Perhaps, once, you came from a planet sending you out on a mission, only for the planet to abandon you or for you to abandon it. You can catalogue your discoveries if you so wish, you can go wherever you desire.

But you have the tendency to be awfully lonesome. Because of this, you're the type to interfere with other aliens in an either friendly or aggressive manner. Either way, you spend most of your space-journeying life in a solitary confinement with only the hum of the starship's engine to keep you from going insane.

-

I N F E R N A

Inferna exists as the bane of the UMDS' existence. This organization is an ever-growing army which is known for its genocidal ways of making money. They will wipe out entire planets' populations if it means they get to mine the minerals on it. They will also destroy budding stone age races, forcefully raise bases on other planets, and rob almost any ship of their money that passes by.

The origins of Inferna are unknown, other than it was raised as a corporate company, which turned into a corrupt army. Little is known about them, and those who usually witness the destruction they cause, do not make it out to spread this information. The most worrying thing about the Inferna is how they claim new soldiers.

From the populations they destroy, they will usually hand-pick a group of strong individuals to claim into their army. These alien individuals have unique abilities that make them useful as an army of war. Every soldier you meet most likely does not remember their home planet, or the true family that raised them before being taken.

🕷 The Lepaxian's. 🕷

🕸 [Le-pax-i-an] 🕸

- - - - -

The Lepaxian's (classified as the Phivaelis Zeldux), are a bipedal sociable species that acts as the apex predator of their planet. Their name is derived from the very planet they hail from; Lepaxia, this planet is twice as large as Earth, located in one of the farthest reaching solar systems from our own. The planet is lush with plentiful plant life as far as the eye can see, from forests to downright jungles, there are plenty of spaces for bugs to crawl into and hide. This works out well as the inhabitants are entirely insect species, including the Lepaxian's, of which are Insectoid's being rather closely related to arachnids- particularly spiders making their kind a cold-blooded species. Lepaxian's resemble spiders in number of limbs, their physical appearance, clutch size, and web making ability. Overall, the average Lepaxian has a number of six arms then one set of legs- and while rare, there are a few that get ten limbs by having eight arms.

Then there's their bent legs which lower part moves in back some, a total number of four colorful eyes which lack pupils or even a iris, the spider jaws on either side in front their mouth, and the short hairs covering them from head to toe. A clutch of spiderlings more often than not consists of numerous proportions, as Lepaxian spiderlings are shockingly small. As for the webbing making ability, their webs come from glands specifically for the webs located on the sides of their neck, which travel up all the way to the sides of the mouth, to finally the spider jaws. Also known as the chelicerae; appendages that in the Lepaxian's case have claws at the ends, where at the tip does the webbing spew out of. From there they use the tips of their pointy claws that softly curve to make a slight hook thanks to the thinnest of the top, to take the strong and sticky webbing then use it for whatever that they desire.

Commonly. The colors that one will see these Insectoid's have is brown, whether standard, light, dark, they can come in a variety of shades that differ primarily where they come from. Another thing they share is a striking color to contrast the brownness in their hairs, which can range in different lengths and textures depending on where their group originates from, these colors are naturally there from birth as markings, ranging differently these colors show what group your family originated from long ago back in the early age. Said colors can be red, blue, green, yellow, orange and more. Able to appear as different shades and in different places on the body as long, the markings are imperfect so they're always unique to their respective Lepaxian.

Spiderlings are teeny, fragile, though troublesome little creatures who on average come out of the clutch at the size of 1'6 or 1'8. It is borderline impossible to determine just how big a spiderling of this species will become, they are just as unpredictable in growth as they behave. Mother Lepaxian's do not produce milk, thus instead of the mother doing the brunt of the hunting, the spiderlings are taught at an young age to hunt feeble, cowardice prey and play-fighting is a common thing among the young. As they grow up from spiderlings, every Lepaxian is to experience a molt that in their case is more frequent given their younger age, this shedding of old skin will happen all the way up until adulthood. Molting essentially acts as their form of puberty; meaning it finally stops when they are fully grown.

Unlike the spiders we know, these Insectoid's are quite tall, especially the females of the species. There are towering males but they nearly aren't as common as tall females, whom range from 5'11 all the way to 7' while some males barely even reach the 6' ft mark. And in their world size difference is highly important, what is a taboo for outsiders, is not for their species. The consumption of mates is not a rarity of any sort for the females as the Lepaxian's for generations dating back to the primal age have lived with the mentality of the smaller one is, the weaker they are, whilst the bigger one is, the stronger they are. To the point where it's became a instinct to pick off the smaller mate just when hungry, this straying from the mindset of survival laced into their kind due to their background.

If it wasn't worse they are openly cannibalistic in that they have no qualms about eating feral spider, or spider-related critters. Insects makes up the mass majority of their diet, not really caring much for the meat of mammals as their sharp- but small teeth can make eating through meat difficult. Insects have soft interior flesh, so one can piece together why they choose one over the other. A Lepaxian will not know knowledge of all the bugs in the galaxy, however they'll on average know about a great lot of them on their home planet, especially which they consider to be delicacies. Surprisingly enough for some, these Insectoid's tend to be knowledgeable in culinary world of Lepaxia, that is filled with all the buggy delights one can (or not) ask for! Hunting has became quite the staple on Lepaxia; but to sustain themselves or others by trade more so than for sport, one will find plenty of trading shops for simply fresh deceased prey, including their own version of restaurants which they call Meal Stations, serving all the bug-based dishes and sugar water a Lepaxian could want.

If there is one thing that means a lot to Lepaxian's (besides food), it's family. Being a sociable species, it is typical for families to be close-knit, even mates tend to be despite the species' odd beliefs surrounding such, the actions that come from them, and the seemingly enviable fate that follows. Mothers are significantly protective of their offspring to the point of being willing to fight til' the end for them, sharing a special bond with their children, comprised of heightened senses tied to their young. It is uncommon that a Lepaxian will find a mate in a non-Lepaxian- but only due to the fact that there isn't many Lepaxian's off world because of their strong family bond, despite their ships that are advanced enough. But they have made a name for themselves for their strangeness, odd shifts in behavior, as well as their efficient work ethic, high multitasking skill, and dedication to their craft. So it isn't too difficult for them to find work in that criteria though they raise concerns. It doesn't help the fact that Lepaxian's have more recently came out on the radar of other intergalactic species', approximately over two millennium, since then they've finally made themselves officially known outside their planet and even solar system. While that sounds like a rather long time on paper, there still is a sizable amount of information about Lepaxian's that isn't common knowledge among the outsiders.

The Lepaxian's have their myths- even a deity. But to stay on myths, they have their fair share. Ranging from stories, beasts, and different Lepaxian variants. The most popular and well-known myth variant are the winged Lepaxian. Those who have claimed to come in contact or know a winged Lepaxian, deem that they are significantly smaller no matter the gender, and that they seem to be a rare breed of Lepaxian. There are a handful of Lepaxian who've dedicated their lives work to find out they really are just a rare breed, or otherwise a myth, if there is some truth or a complete tall tale that managed to go wide-spread. It has been documented by the some that supposedly laid on this kind, the two genders both glow in the dark- however the females have a darker color-scheme while the males have a lighter color-scheme.

They have been estimated to stand around 3 ft - 4 ft in height, though they are said to be quite mischievous and slippery. They also stay true to being an Lepaxian by showing the same approach to instincts, having distinct shifts in behavior and the bug-filled diet. Only thing they differ on is the views on height, and understandably so if one thinks about it, as it has been speculated that with the standard Lepaxian's beliefs this would bring the winged kind low in their society. Along with that, is that the winged kind seem to typically closely around the same height.

Back on appearances, the winged variant appear sharper around the edges. Described to cover their form are fine hairs as sharp as needles with protruding elbows that end in points, fleshy horn-like growths on either sides of the head and big, pointed edge eyes. Hands and feet are small, but both equipped with stubby yet sharp claws, otherwise they resemble the standard Lepaxian with the two-toed feet with claws and five-fingered hands with- and you guessed it, claws. Teeth remain small yet pointy, as does the wideness of the mouth which still has the chelicerae at the corners. Pretty much the rest stays true to the standard kind. But on the second thought, we haven't gotten to the wings: the highlight of the variant. The wings are delicate as any other insect wing, to heighten the fragile appearance is the fact that they are transparent like glass making them difficult to spot at some times, being lined in an simple pattern on the inside. There are no defined edges and the total number of wings are four, two big ones on top then smaller ones that lacking a pattern located right below.

Pudding Commentary:

The classified term for the Lepaxian species was inspired by the scientific term for common Jumping Spiders (Phidippus audax); of which the standard kind of Lepaxian is inspired from.

Lepaxian's have a Deity but I'm too lazy to write about that at the moment, maybe Karma will touch on her later if I don't eventually add her here. But basically she is considered by the Lepaxian's the Deity of Strength and shes like... the only Lepaxian with a big, muscly build in their history, heh. And yes. She is tall, actually said to be the tallest recorded Lepaxian standing at 8'8, because why not?

Winged Lepaxian's are not inspired by anything in particular, but I do get a fairy type vibe from them, and they low-key may or may not have powers which are downright magical. Honestly if I was to make another main OC in the RP, I'd want to make it a Winged Lepaxian, and yeah that'd be the confirmation that the variant exists but if I don't ever do that then it's still a mystery. As in I mean I will not claim if they exist or not, if I don't make a Winged Lepaxian character.

There are some major cities in Lepaxia, meant to add that info but had difficulty working that in. Might later though, who knows.

The idea if that Winged Lepaxian's were cave-dwellers so that's why they have glowing markings. But the cave-dwelling Lepaxian's do not claim if the mythical breed comes from there own. And yeah. There are cave-dwelling Lepaxian's.

Different sexual orientation exists among Lepaxian's but heterosexuality is more... common, I suppose, because uh... they're heavily animal.

Lepaxian's are not immune to insecticide. The Alien kind at least can prominently harm them, the human kind doesn't really do anything to them.

The Xenomorph sort of vaguely was inspiration for the species- not just Karma Kamaxus.

Lepaxian's aren't necessarily a evil species, they don't colonize other worlds or anything. They're really just animalistic and the majority have a rather strong grip onto their beliefs.

I've come such a long way from the now three Alien species I've made. The Lepaxian's are definitely my new favorite, because I haven't made a character like Karma before or a species like the Lepaxian's. It's a wonderful new experience and I am prepared to think of more lore, despite the fact that the crew most likely is never going to go even near Lepaxia, lol. Or come across Karma's siblings, or her mother (why am I developing this stuff in my head so much). And yes, I do plan on adding to this post throughout the RP.

Homokiwaedus Gacuvier

-- Species Infolog --

Homokiwaedus Gacuvier is a subaquatic species of bipedal mammalichamorpha that live on a planet known as Sudaera - a planet that is about as large as Venus, containing a 65% mass of dihydrogen monoxide and a 35% mass of solid landmass. Homokiwaedus Gacuvier are genderless, and much like some bird species and cells they can perform what is known as parenthogenesis. This type of species is known for being relatively social, living in colonies, however when it comes to relationships and partners there are very few - those who are partners tend to be monogamous and will generally live together in isolation; partners, or couples, tend to have 1-4 offspring maximum, unlike the head of a colony. Homokiwaedus Gacuvier have skin that looks smooth, however when touched feels rough much like sandpaper. Their skin is made up of small plates of cartilage known as denticles, which are small 1" thick plated cartilage teeth on their body that protect them from sustaining minor injuries. The plated teeth themselves are lacking in melanin and coloration, resulting in the species having a mostly white appearance. The plates are around 3 cm in size, which is why they aren't easily seen, and if a soft skinned organism brushes against them hard enough they can sustain minor, or major, injuries depending on size and how fragile they are.

Homokiwaedus Gacuvier have hair as well, specifically known as setae, on their heads and arms, which allows them to capture microorganisms and other small organisms. The setae is also used as a type of sensor which is extremely useful to those who are blind or may be in dark regions that are too hard to see; they have "night vision," however in order to see there must be at least a small amount of light present. If no light is present (like in a deep underground cave or deep down underwater) then they will be visually impaired and rely on their setae to help give them sensory vision. The height range is from 5'5" all the way to 7' maximum, all of which depends on certain genetic and geographic factors; those who live at higher elevations tend to be smaller with increased hemoglobin while those who live at lower elevations bear taller statures and are far more aquatic than their elevated counterparts. Homokiwaedus Gacuvier have built in filters, less visible than gills, on the sides of their neck where they filter out oxygen from water. Homokiwaedus Gacuvier can last up to 5 hours underwater without the need to resurface, however if more acquainted to land than water they'll only be able to last from 1-3 hours tops.

On the hands and feet are claws, normally black in coloration, in which tend to be used during hunts and other manual activities; only the claws on the hands are retractable. The hands are fairly developed in a sense where they have the specific function of holding objects while the feet are evolved in a way where the toes spread outwards much like flippers, both hands and feet have webbing that is the same coloration as their setae. The sclera matches the color of the setae, while the pupil tends to be a color in which goes well with the setae's color; examples would be red sclera with orange pupil, blue sclera with white pupil, green sclera with gold pupil, pink sclera with yellow pupil, etc etc. When it comes to certain suits, such as space suits, the color of the suit is usually the same as the color of the setae for easy identification.

Homokiwaedus Gacuvier have an average lifespan of 2500 years, and age can best be seen by the amount of pigmentation in their setae. The less pigmentation there are visible, the older the organism. When one thinks about it, it's almost like a receding hairline-minus the loss of "hair." Same pigmentation loss occurs in the setae on the arms.

The teeth are fairly pointed, as they are considered to be a carnivorous species, with serrated sides. Each organism has 2 rows of teeth which will molt when worn out and a new set are prepared to push forward. If one was to think about it in simpler terms, imagine the way a shark loses its tooth and gets a new one: it works just like that.

As previously mentioned, Homokiwaedus Gacuvier are social creatures, empathetic and emotionally expressive, functioning well in groups and colonies, however there are instances where an odd one is born; when mentioning "odd one," the term is best tied to a member of the species that lacks empathy and emotional expression. If a member lacks in this, it is recognized as disabled or possibly defective. Those who are seen as defective might be abandoned by those who are their family, and tend to have shorter lifespans due to a lower survival chance when being alone. Despite being an intelligent species, there is still social Darwinism and much preference still in play.

-- Definitions --

Mammalichamorpha- an organism in which is a mammal, however shares DNA and other factors with the Selachimorpha family (basically what sharks are classified as)

Homokiwaedus Gacuvier- This is just a mash up of "Homo," "Kiwa," and the "Ga" of "Galeocerdo" combined with "Cuvier." Literally just a mesh of man/intelligent yeti crab tiger shark in two fancy shanty words that don't actually exist

Ra

[ Apepi's species cannot be found to have any documentation on it. As far as information goes, barely anyone knows about this species' existence, other than small pockets of societies across the galaxy that have come across a Ra. The Ra have always lived in a stone age-type society on their home planet Duat. They are typically small and willowy people, and each look like carbon copies of the others. Their average height is 5'7, and it is rare to see someone spike up above that height, but when they do, they are quite, quite tall.

The Ra, having no natural strength or protection, have evolved to develop a mimicry factor to them; Their bodies can morph into anomalous weapons. They usually copy factors of other animals on their home planet, like the protective spikes of a herbivore, or the sabertooth-like teeth of a predator. This factor only comes into play when a Ra feels like they are in danger. If a Ra has never had an example of a weapon shown to them, they will morph a limb into grotesque vision of a weapon.

Members of this species often have black or brown curls in their hair. They have only one gender, to which they refer to as Sht. Their skin color may range from pale to dark tan colors, but their skin has a gray tint to it which makes them appear grayscale in the right lighting. They often look very similar to one another, as there is very little appearance diversity in this race, but there is a lot of genetic diversity under the surface.

Ra tend to live in large family units, splitting off from the grandparents. The grandparents run the household, as their children raise their own children with their siblings. Parsibs will raise their siblings' children like their own. Ra have their own language, though it is made of hisses and click sounds instead of vocalized words. Everything is described as a feeling, so definitions of words cannot be translated as accurately. Adjectives are not apparent in this language, as all sentences are formed the same, and accentuation on something is expressed through tone.

Ra are gentle and intelligent beings, despite being in their own stone age currently. They have not evolved physically for thousands of years, and despite being of higher sentience, have not changed their lifestyle. They use tools, technology, and farming techniques like every other underdeveloped civilization, but if they so desired to branch out science-wise, they would jump into an immediate industrial age. Their bodies develop slowly, but their minds develop way beyond their years.

There are common themes in how Ra will act. As aforementioned, they are gentle and intelligent beings, but they are also sensitive and intense. A slight change in tone can have them wondering if they upset you for the next week. They will treat you with utmost kindness and respect off the bat of knowing you, but the second you insult them, they treat it like a curse upon their family. Kindness is a very valuable thing in Ra culture, and they will hold your wrongdoings above your head until the day you die. Just because they are naturally kind-hearted, doesn't mean they won't excommunicate you for a singular incident. ]

Aphroix

[ The Aphroix are better known as "Shadow Creatures." Though typically remaining on dim and murky planets, they can easily be found throughout the universe. They have different labels under different folktales, such as "Changeling" for European folklore. Despite this, they are not real changelings, just easily confused for it. They are a nomadic race, and are found on multiple different planets in multiple different systems, which is why they have been given so many names.

The Aphroix's true forms are tall, limber people with long fingers, large eyes and pupils, and a gnarly set of pin-like teeth. Appearances will differ depending on your sub-species of Aphroix (the majority of which are unnamed). They have the ability to steal the appearances of other organisms, but retain a lot of the same features they had before (thus the reason why they are easily mistaken for Changelings). This evolutionary factor was born out of the fact that they had been scattered across the universe, and had to evolve to fit in. Some of the features that never developed to change were their teeth, eyes, illusionary factors, and spider-like hands.

Lincoln's sub-species evolved to live in the dark. They have round eyes and very large pupils that take up the majority of their sclera. Like all other Aphroix, they have the iconic long, gangly fingers. The one thing that sets them apart is their odd set of teeth. Their teeth closely resemble the pin-like teeth of a Dragonfish or any other deep sea creature. They are thin, but long and sharp like pine needles. Though their teeth look like you could snap them in half without a fraction of strength, they are made from densified bone, and would most likely hurt you before vice versa.

Their teeth are their prized possession. Aphroix have an incredibly adaptable diet, though they most often refuse to eat any vegetation. There is an exception, though, which is citrus. Citrus to Aphroix is like chocolate to dogs--it's not good for them, but it's their favorite food! They commonly feast on small critters, and sometimes bugs. Their teeth create a gnarly array of puncture-wounds in the critter, effectively softening it up until it's chewy enough for them to eat. Disgusting, yes, but tactical. You should probably bring a vomit bag with you if you go out on a lunch date with an Aphroix.

The oddest thing about Lincoln's sub-species are their voices. Their voices are the illusionary factor that most Aphroix carry with them. Their voices sound layered and wispy, like a haunting ghost, but not quite as calming. This is because they have two sets of vocal cords, while Lincoln's sub-species has three. This factor had evolved over time as a tactic to fit in with other species. Each voice box has a different number of chords, so effectively, they can mimic almost any language and accent. When they are not masking their true appearance, they will speak with all voice boxes, as they use them all at once naturally. ]

Homultindia Clipian

Common name: "Imposters"

Homultindia Clipian  is a solitary species, often only encountering another of their species during mating season, and that typically only happens once in their entire lifespan. The creatures are technically hermaphroditic, having a store of eggs that are held within their bodies which they just need to meet another of their kind in order to fertilize them. After that, they travel the galaxy, finding suitable hosts to inject with toxins that are created naturally within the body, paralyzing the victim and a range of 1-3 eggs are implanted within the bodies. The young, when they first hatch consume the body, and if the clutch contained more than one egg, the young fight each other to the death, the victor consuming the others for sustenance. They spend their early years hunting down animals or humanoid children, mastering their shapeshifting abilities until they reach maturity. Their bodies release a pheromone, which is only able to be detected by others of the species. They typically either kill a creature of the civilization and assume their identity, or create a humanoid on their own. If the mature parasite has no reference for a species, they may either assume the shape of an animal, or have major flaws in their appearance as they try to imitate what they think humanoids look like.

As far as their shapeshifting capabilities go, they are able to change their form, and can replicate any organic material, however inorganic materials must be scavenged or made.

Most often, they are very messy eaters, being bathed in the blood of their prey and the cracking of bones being quite loud. They also do not kill their prey before consuming, so the surrounding area is most likely going to be consumed by screaming.

Their bite force is roughly 20,000 PSI, well over the amount of pressure needed to break the bones of any creature, so consuming their prey is no problem in terms of trying to eat the bones.

They are widely regarded as dangers to any civilization, and encouraged to be either arrested by the UMDS for testing, or being destroyed on sight. They can be identified typically by slight unusual flaws in the face, limbs, or just general appearance of the person, although common defects may be mistaken for the Imposters, although most people would rather be safe rather than sorry.
