Looking to adopt some newbies!

Looking to adopt some newbies!

I'm looking for a handful of newbies to help along here in Wolvden! I was inspired by another thread of someone doing something like this and wanted to reach out to the community again.

While I haven't been here since EA I have a pretty firm grasp on how Wolvden works, having come over from its sister site Lioden. Even if I personally don't have the answer I have the resources and knowledge to be able to find one or direct you to the person who does. I'm on fairly often throughout the day during Central Time.

Feel free to just ask a question on this thread or DM me if you feel uncomfortable with others seeing :)

I'm a newbie, and I need help . . .

In explore, I can't win much for battles (I get my butt kicked a LOT) even by enemies lower level or same as me :( I started out ok finding five of the medicine herbs, but now I've used them all and have NO hp ... how do I level like that?!

My hunts aren't very successful. I only have 3 wolves in my party and I have no idea about "conflicting" personalities. I can't seem to get past only ONE successful hunt :( Should I just break the wolves into separate parties?!

How in the world can I get some SC ?! my hunters suck and I can't seem to win battles. Am I just doing something really really wrong?

Even as a high level wolf with low HP you can still absolutely get your butt kicked by NPCs, so try to stay out of fights unless you have full or mostly full HP.  Most have a move that is most effective on them, though latching has proven to be helpful across the board. It doesn't allow the NPC to respond to your attack if it succeeds and then opens a new panel of stronger attacks while you're latched. I can send you a few healing salves if you're stuck unable to explore. There are a few options in explore that heal you as well, such as drinking from puddles or using herbs.

Hunts won't really be successful until your hunting party has some synergy, which you generate by sending them out on hunts. As for conflicting personalities I have a few images that may help explain.

As long as your hunting party members have at least one trait in common (social, stern, dramatic, calm) there shouldn't be any infighting.

Quick ways to make SC early on is to remember to take your daily quest and sell your smaller carcasses to the raccoon. SC is intentionally hard to find in explore right now so it may take you a while to get a larger sum. Save your herbs for when illnesses set in!

hello! I just joined yesterday, what kind of things should I not be selling to the raccoon? I'm terrified of coming across something rare and useful and not realizing it so i tend to hoard everything I get, but I have no idea what any of it does!

also, is there any way to get GC without spending real money?

Early on it's a good idea to save acorns, herbs, and medicines/salves depending on how much fighting you do in explore. Acorns because they can be given to NPCs for a variety of rewards depending on the interaction. Most unique/rare items will tell you in the description what they do so I wouldn't over-worry. Herbs are a pretty big one to save to turn into medicine, as a nasty sickness could wipe out your whole den (invest in a quarantine den ASAP). Salves can be saved for when you're impatient to battle or can be hoarded to sell.

Other players raffles, selling your art, selling items/wolves in the trading center, or trading currency/items in the trading center are some alternative ways to get GC.

I gave one acorn that I found in explore to a opossum but it didn't seem to do anything 0:

The opossum doesn't really do anything as far as I know, though when you give an acorn to the beaver in the mountain biome it gives you a lucky foot, an item that sways the outcome of any battle in your favor. Wolvden interactions are a lot of trial and error but each one has the same/similar outcome each time you choose it.

What rare bases/markings should I keep my out for? What's considered high stats?

So what you're really going to want to look for base-wise currently is tier II bases. Checking a wolf's genetics will tell you what tier its base is. When combo bases come out those will be pretty popular.

Marking rarities are not visible on a wolf's page, they are only reflected in the actual game source code. Right now Merle and Inuit unders are selling pretty well. As for other markings here's a handy google doc with all the current markings and their rarity tiers: Markings Sorted by Tier

Good stats right now is considered 300 and upward, though it's relatively easy to stat breed (at least easier than Lioden).
