No; the game will tell you when the recipe is done. He will start regenerating energy as well even if you dont collect the recipe.

What if you breed your Herbalist? Is she going to still be able to fulfill duties or is she MIA like scouts and hunters after she nests?

you cant nest your herbalist if shes foraging or crafting (and theres no way to cancel those either) and while shes nesting, she cant start up any new tasks. i dont know if she cant diagnose sick wolves while nested, i havent had a chance to test that myself, but maybe someone else knows

I plan on breeding mine, so I wanted to see if I’d want to have a backup herbalist. It would probably be a good idea anyway, but I’ll see if she can diagnose!

I can understand a nesting herbalist not able to forage, but think they should be able to research and craft. I mean, she’s gotta find something to do while taking care of puppies!

since you can only have one herbalist, swapping another one into the job and then putting the original wolf back would make you need to research almost half the cures again, so if you are going to breed your herbalist, id say just make sure youve got enough medicines available that nesting her wont endanger the pack. also nest on the last possible day

That is a very good point... I didn’t think of losing cure knowledge... I’m certainly waiting to nest working females until the last possible day though!
