Characters are mostly just interacting in a dystopia city setting. You'll have to ask people where their specific character is at the moment if you want to gauge where and what their doing. For me, Xiao is talking to Ateus in the middle of the sidewalk and Valentine is about to leave a cafe with Watsonia.
