Posted 2022-04-14 10:27:00 (edited) #723646 I love this new groups feature and I'm really excited for how it will affect the game! However, I don't want the groups I join to show up on my profile. I think it would be nice if we had a toggle under our account settings - "Hide Groups" - that would keep all groups you're in from showing up on your own profile. Some of us want our privacy, some people are in the closet but still want to join gay groups, etc I can't imagine a downside to this, and I believe it would just take a bit of coding!	Ghost #49933

You'd think this is the default! Yeah, I don't use groups and probably won't but people should be able to have some privacy. A similar suggestion was posed about people's friends lists and I support this for the same reason as I did that one: not everyone needs to know who I have contact with or how I spend my time, that information shouldn't be volunteered for me or any other player.

Social media's kind of turned weirdly invasive, there is no reason that people should know this kind of thing unless you want them to. I'm kind of showing my age here but come on, even myspace allowed you to customise your page to this extent and I'm fairly sure it's been what, twenty years since that was made? Besides, younger players might feel a bit safer with an added layer of privacy because this game allows teens and adults to share an online space.

tl;dr: I support it. We don't need every moment of our lives, even online ones, broadcast to the world.

People don't need to know what I'm involved in, the same way nobody else needs to know what people I've friended. (And I don't like that everyone can see my posts for that matter, either, but that's a whole other thing.) As Flower said, sites these days love to put everything out there, and I've always hated it. Putting my anxiety aside, I just want privacy. Please allow me, and others like me, that simple request.
