Herbalist Unavailable?

So the game is still very new and it makes sense that not everything will be accessible right away, but I'm curious about the herbalist in the crossroads. It's greyed out for me and with no HP regeneration option outside of healing items, I really want to get a healer in my pack so I can make some.

Has anybody figured out how it works yet? Is it something we have to level up to get access to or is it simply not a functioning game mechanic yet?

It is supposed to open after 4 rollovers. so 3 more I think...

Ah! How interesting. Guess the game is having us get used to exploring for ourselves before introducing new mechanics, I imagine it would get overwhelming quickly otherwise. Still, makes for good flavor text to extend it out I suppose.
