Mythical and Supernatural Monsters and Creatures!

Mythical and Supernatural Monsters and Creatures!

Have you ever wondered about all the creatures and monsters in stories and myths? Well, there are a lot! There are ones that can fly, dig, or hide well, ones that can blend in with humans, lure humans in, or sneak around in the night, even ones that help humans! A few examples are gods, Wendigo, Moth man, Skinwalkers, Long horse, and a lot more! We will be sharing facts and stories about these creatures, from where they came from all the way to what they are famous for!

To start with, there are many creatures that are commonly seen in the sky! Some examples are dragons, angels, Moth man, manticores, and many more! To start, there are dragons! Everyone knows of these beasts, but did you know that they are just one of six scaled beasts? They differ based on wing and leg number! For example, two wings and four legs would be a dragon, but two wings and two legs would be a Wyvern! And if there are no legs and no wings, it is a Wyrm, if there are no legs and two wings it is an Amphithere, two legs and no wings is a Lindworm, and four legs with no wings is a Drake! There are also different breaths dragons can have, water, ice, fire, rocks, and so many more! Just imagine encountering one of these many beasts during your travels! And that is not to mention the big birds of the mythological world! Like the Phoenix, the big fire birds that never die! They can be any color of fire there is if they are under the right conditions! Would it be amazing to see a blue flaming bird fly across the sky! Swooping and swaying and leaving an amazing blazing trail in its wake! Then there is the Roc, which is a mega-sized eagle with a lot more colors available to it! It is massive, one of its talons being big enough to cage a human or two alone! If you made friends with one of these things, you would never get out of it! And the last creature to be described will be the Griffin! Griffins can have any color scheme of any eagle and big cat, stripes from lions or spots from leopards, bare fur from lions, and they always have mains, beaks, talons, and paws! They are beautiful and majestic creatures and tend to be brave, hence why Gryffindor uses it as a mascot! They sometimes gather shiny things, their birdy greed causing this! And they, among all the other flying beasts, are usually in the skies or their homes, ranging from nests to caves! These are just a few of the mythical flying beasts!

Next, there are creatures that exist on land! Some examples of these creatures are hobbits, dwarves, elves, were creatures, Pegasus, unicorns, the Hide Behind, and so many more! To start, there are so many Were creatures, from Were-cats to Were-deer all the way to were-bears! For now, we will explain what they all have in common and what Werewolves specifically have. To continue, Pegasi are technically creatures that can be seen in the sky, but being mostly pony, they are more commonly seen on the ground, because they would still need to eat, as well as rest. They would live on the ground and fly to get away from danger or to get to places faster. Meanwhile, the other fantasy horse, the unicorn, uses its horn to heal things, which can be used to purify water or heal wounds! Next, hobbits! These little guys have their homes in hills, dug out by themselves! They tend to stay away from people, but some have visitors occasionally! They are short and stout, but still friendly!

Lastly, there are marine creatures! Examples of this are Sea Serpents, the Kraken, Aspidochelone, Mermaids, and a lot more! To begin with, the Kraken, a mythical massive octopus, an ultra-sized giant squid, bigger than any other recorded. It is known for its destruction of ships and death to passersby, but some theorize it was just trying to play. However, another large sea creature, the Sea Serpent, is not considered as nice. It is known for destroying ships even without arms, looking like a massive eel, as big and long as a Kraken's tentacle. They tend to attack anything human in sight. On a nicer note, the Aspidochelone are Turtles with land on their backs, looking like an island. They are quite friendly, and do not mind people living on them, considering they get mistaken for islands so often because of how hard they are to be seen other than what is above the water. They can be big enough to be an entire continent, or small enough to be a tiny, sandy island.

That has concluded the lesson on Mythical and Supernatural creatures and monsters! Did you learn something new, or do you want to learn more? Maybe Gods and Goddesses from all kinds of religions will be explained next time, or the everyday animals of life? Who knows?
