In the beginning, there were two wolves. One representing life, the other, death. Between them, they created the world as we know it, as well as other powerful entities. Verdance and Wraith, life and death, worked together, for they both knew a world would be unbalanced without either of them. Verdance had a child, Dusk. She was a Demi goddess of earth, controlling the rocks below your feet. She had another child, Viridescence. Goddess of springtime and fertility, always at odds with the merciless goddess of winter, Blizzard. Dusk created her own pack, in which other gods and goddesses reside. Abyss, the judge of souls and apprentice to Wraith commands a small band of mortal wolves who live in the Depths. The Depths are the last possible place mortals can go, part of Wraith's domain. But no one alive can go to the Void. Dark and lonely, the void is the place where all souls go. Sorei leads spirits through the depths, so they may find peace or punishment at the hands of Wraith and Abyss. But there is much more than that to this world, each god and goddess has an entire story to their name, so read on.

Verdance(Goddess of Life, one of the creators):

I am the wolf of the plants, the guardian of life and the alpha of this Pack. I was created of moss and will protect life as I am one of two creation wolves, the other being death. You need both for a world to survive.

Wraith(Goddess of Death, one of the creators)

I am inevitable, none can avoid me, for I am Death. All people die, the poorest of peasants, the richest of kings, all souls come to reside in the underworld. I am there for every sickness, I am there for every war, I am everywhere. No matter if you were great or terrible, no matter if you were young or old, all will die, never to return.

Carnage(Goddess of War)

You know me, you fear me, and you should. Not a day goes by without me, not a country was born without me. Pain, blood, suffering, they all describe me. I am War.

Sanguis(Goddess of Blood)

I am necessary for survival, pumped from your heart, through your veins, feeding your body with oxygen. But I do not represent that, I represent when blood is spilled. The dark red liquid longs to be outside, and I let it.

Viridescence(Goddess of Spring)

Spring is an era of plenty, an era of peace, an era of happiness. I represent all of those, the flowers, the birds, the little babies. They all come with spring.

Andromeda(Goddess of Space)

I wasn't born. I wasn't created either. Rather, I have always been there. You know me, not as an entity but as a fact of life. I am the very fabric of the universe, you see me every day, as you look up to the stars and wonder at how small you are. I am immortal, I will still be alive once the last black hole fades out of existence, once the universe is empty of everything but dark energy. That is because I am dark energy, I am everything. And since the universe will never truly be empty, I will continue my life as everyone around me dies. None will live longer than I and none will have more knowledge.

Tristitia(Goddess of Sadness)

You sigh, seeing your breath appear in front of you. You had been trekking through the taiga for hours and it was starting to take on a bluish purple haze in front of your eyes. A lone pup sits in front of your path. Four pools of sorrow stare at you as you stop to catch your breath. A feeling of icy despair started to creep over your heart. You would die out here, but no one would care, why would they? You were a useless husk of a wolf. You let out a wail of misery, flopping down in the snow. Clutching your head, you rock back and forth. Why not kill yourself now? Nobody cared anyway. Tears run down your cheeks as you fade into a deep sleep, your sobs the only movement. Not long after, you're covered with fresh snowfall, never to see the sun again. The puppy howls into the sky.

Furor(Goddess of Wrath)

Born from the heat of the sun, an insatiable feeling of rage and insanity has engulfed this wolf ever since its creation. The embodiment of blind fury itself, this is Furor.

Terrifying snarls echo from inside the volcano. Worse than the screams of anguish, the noise chills you to your very core. At some point, curiosity overwhelms you. Who is this strange wolf? Why is it so angry? You steel yourself and look down through the crater, to be met with three pairs of the most hate-filled eyes you've ever seen. It wasn't a wolf, it was a monster. The three-headed beast had lava running an endless pattern on it's fur as it strove to break free from its magical restraints. A thick chain, carved with ancient runes kept the wolf chained to the bottom of the volcano. You marveled at the it. What chain could keep this three-headed monster in one place? What maker could craft such a chain? The answer hit you, of course! Only Death herself could make such a chain. Only Death has power over fury. But that didn't stop the beast from pulling at the chain with all its force, for it seeked destruction and blood. You scramble away from the lip of the volcano, swearing never to go there again. As you climb down with difficulty, you still can't shake off the feeling you're being watched.

Formido(Goddess of Fear)

The trees loom over you, their shadows enveloping you and stifling your breath. A thick fog obscures your view and makes the air weigh heavily. The wind passes through the branches up ahead, and as you look up, a pair of bloodthirsty red eyes meet your gaze. You yelp, blinking rapidly to see they're gone. You steady your breath, it was probably some red flowers that surprised you in the night, you reason to yourself. Your paw grazes something soft, you turn, only to see nothing. Just the cold, hard earth. As you continue walking, you hear a hissing noise, a whisper almost. Though the air was now deathly still, you reason it was the wind. Hello. Something says, it's slithering voice creeping into your ears. Your eyes widen, searching frantically for the source of the noise. "Who are you? Show yourself!" You shout bravely, though trembling into the forest. You here your own voice echoing back, mocking you. Eventually a response comes through the dense forest, I am Fear, and you are dead.

Blizzard(Goddess of Winter)

Fierce, merciless, and freezing, this is Blizzard. Goddess of Winter, there is no season so powerful, so deadly, so cold. You will find no pity in her eyes, for she is Winter, and all either bow down, or die.

Whirlpool(Goddess of Lakes and Rivers)

I am Whirlpool, though I may not have control over the vast and powerful ocean, I am essential to the survival of all animals and plants.

Made by the amazing Note!

Tsunami(Demi-goddess of water)

Daughter of Whirlpool, I have always been an excellent swimmer and fisher. However, my heart lies with the dragons. Dealing with furious dragon parents is no easy task, but hearing the adorable chirping of a hatchling as it sees the world for the first time makes up for all the burns, freezes, and scars I have received.

Aerwyna(Goddess of the Tides)

A powerful force, her sweetness may deceive you. Her beauty is unmatched, the white crested waves arching elegantly over the shore. But when she is angry, those beautiful waves turn to destructive tsunamis, engulfing the land and decimating the residents.

Nocturnum

A lunar wolf, Nocturnum resides in the world of dreams, of shining blue light. She has lived there her entire life, and is respected as one of the most powerful. She is kind and gentle, always ready to make friends. She is mates with Somnium.

Somnium

Born in the glowing light of the dreamlands, Somnium is a shadowy wolf. He observes, he calculates, and he strikes. He is very quiet, only talking fluidly with one wolf, his mate. People often underestimate his power.

Dusk(Demi-Goddess of Earth, daughter of Verdance)

"A disease ravaged my family, my father left for his old home, and my mother starved herself to feed me. My siblings either went their own path or died of the sickness. Eventually, I was forced to leave, following those wisps my family claimed to have just been my imagination. I traveled for months until I finally met a wolf named Tala. I saw things others could not.
I am a demigod, daughter of Verdance, lover of Sorei.
Now, I am the leader of the Forest Creek Pack.
I am proud, ferocious, and unrelenting.
I am Dusk."

Abyss(Apprentice to Wraith, judge of souls)

She is the goddess of the Void, ruler of the Depths, and daughter of Sorei.
Still a young Goddess, she is the future ruler of all of the dead souls residing in the Depths, once she reaches age. She is a protector of all, ruler of the deceased. A Goddess of peaceful death and one with the Void, she is quickly growing to be a powerful force.
She is Abyss.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Leader of the ShadowSeekers, a band of living wolves whom reside and survive in the Depths.

Sorei(Guide for the souls in the Depths)

Seer of futures, God of the moon, and protector of souls.

An old God, once born in secret, smuggled away from his sister, Azama.
He guides lost souls to the Depths, and watches all futures. He is the God of Death, and where you see the stars is where the souls reside, deep inside the depths, but they still break though. He will smuggle you food, just as he was kept secret for most of his puphood.
He is Sorei.

Russet(Inhabited by the soul of Xera, daughter of Carnage)

"I was born with another spirit inside me--the goddess of war and healing, Xera. I will not say that I was possessed--merely inhabited, however my inhabitant does cause me to make rather strange decisions. They say I mutter strange words from a faraway language, ones that even I cannot interpret.
I am not just one wolf, but I am independent in my own right.
I am Russet."

Short Stories:

Heather Elasma, nature dryad's death:
Heather was coughing violently, her fur on fire. But it wasn't normal fire, her mate, Fog looked at her with tears streaming down her face, nothing could put out the fire. Water had splashed on her with no effect, and her condition continued to worsen. Verdance arrived as fast as she could, but she too could not help. Fog related between sobs that perhaps the Heather fields, to which the dryad was linked, could have caused this. Verdance arrived at the Heather fields, only to see a monstrous fire and the humans who had lit it. Aerywyna, goddess of tides was summoned to put out the raging wildfire, but alas, it was too late. After the flood receded, everyone could see that though the fire was no longer there, the fields of once-beautiful, vibrant flowers were now a charred mess of blackened petals and smoking stems. Verdance returned to Heather, her entire body was black instead of healthy green, and she would cough out blood. A few minutes later she took her last ragged breath.
