Community Update #32

Posted 2022-02-25 22:24:16
Eh, disappointing update. I feel like content has been parceled out more and more slowly for the past 2-3 months, and now we don't even get a new raffle mark?

Why not start making raffle studs who have combo color markings of the raffle mark shapes? I know there were some ruffled feathers when that happened half a year ago, but none of us said to never use combo color marks, just to wait a month or check if more than 20 existed already or something like that. Basically every combo color raffle mark gets RMAed onto a G1 T3 and studded out (which is a whole other issue), so some are extremely common and would be welcome on a raffle stud in fresh slots.

It could be nice to have the raffle marks in different slots like you're currently planning, but tbh, those studs would be worth less than literally any other NBW stud on the market with the same marking, and tons of them end up existing due to people R&Cing raffle mark wolves. But unlike the raffle stud, those wolves have more than 200 stats and often have a T* base which is better for breeding.

I would have to agree with @GreyEmbers there is already studs out there with 4 lupos and wings on a T3, I wouldn't mind seeing T* or T3 Raffle studs too, combo marks would be great, or just something to make these breedings exciting again. I don't mean to seem like I am complaining too much but if your 'special once in a lifetime' stud would be female locked in most packs there is a problem.

@Mavric: We have no plans to release T3 or T* raffle studs at this time—bases are being kept exclusively to T1 and T2.  If you're not a fan of a raffle stud, you aren't obligated to enter—the option is there for any player that is interested in raffle eyes or a raffle marking, whether it be a brand new marking or a marking that already exists, just in a new marking slot.

Scouting update could be cool, I just hope it's doesn't make it too easy. I actually enjoy having to re-scout all the areas again but it does take long sometimes once you get to the more difficult biomes. I've always thought that maybe all the easy biomes should always be unlocked, but if it's based on what biome you live in then ppl who live in harder biomes (those who can or just choose to based on lore) could be at an advantage over those who are in easier biomes (again be choice or not) . Again, personally I enjoy the difficulty, like I wish my wolves would get sick more so I'd actually have a reason to craft more medicine or even feel like I need a herbalist…but this is just me
As always, I'm sure you all will do a great job, keep up the good work !

I have mixed feelings about the map reset. On the one hand, it's kind of fun to re-unlock everything (progress bars going up! yay!) and it's satisfying to see how quickly I can do it. Also, it means my lead has an excuse to explore places he doesn't normally go. This time I decided to restart in desert and it was fun seeing all the desert encounters I haven't seen for a while.

On the other hand, it's annoying having my scouting exp go down the tubes for a few weeks until I can get to rainforest/glacier again. It's not super onerous (maybe 2-3 weeks until I have my scouts back in the good exp zones?) but it does slow down my leveling plans a bit.

Basically I'm chill with whatever the devs decide on this one - there are pluses and minuses both ways.

I used to object to the map reset from a lore perspective (why do your scouts suddenly forget all they learned?) but on further reflection, it makes sense. A lead wolf has the helm for nearly a full generation. It's a long time in dog years. It's reasonable that, even if the pack scouted the rainforest a literal generation ago, they might want to check it out again, see the lay of the land and whether anything has changed.
