Wanderlust Cohort Lore (DNR , WIP)

BASICS! (will be used for lore later)(I don't Condone what these idiots do lmao)

Wanderlust Cohort is a kingdom made up of multiple congregations. Each congregation is known for their different skills and values, but all are lead under Fresco. Each congregation has three main leaders, to make sure all is fair. The lead three from all the congregations are also known as The Moon Council

Holder of the Souls- they are our keepers of history, cold and calculated. Usually work as Fresco's right hand in making law, policy, and planning. They are smart and dangerous, and many are wary of their congregation. Their lead three are ObsidianSun , Lutan , and Bluff. Though few practice magic, they delve into the dark magics.

Knights of the Forest- Speaks for itself, they are our peacekeepers. Children of the forest, their souls align with the deep and ancient strength of the woods. If they are not protecting the other congregations, they educate the new generation, no matter where they are from. Their lead three are Soccer, Shiloh, and Verde. They practice ancient magics, though most have to do with nature.

Singers of the Sun- they are our entertainers , travelers , and traders. Wolves of this congregation come from far and wide. They value music , art , and writing. They are beloved by all, though they do not have much worth, as many are only known for their artistic abilities. Free-spirited and energetic. Their lead three are Sven , Esther , and Lemon (Sven is a newcomer, keep in mind.) They do not practice magic, as their value comes from their talent, not their magical abilities. (magical wolves ARE accepted though, but not prized for their magic)

The Smokestacks- The Outcasts of wanderlust cohort. Fresco never turns down any wolf, but this group is just treated as...less. They have no special abilities, magical or mundane, and usually work the labor jobs no one else does. Pups born into the congregation usually stay in this group, unless they are invited by another congregation due to them having above average abilities.

FROM HERE ON OUT, ALL WOLVES WILL GO THROUGH A TEST TO DECIDE THEIR ABILITIES (test of ability)
-this will be given by a random online generator, to decide where they belong in society.
-this generation will have 6(?) layers
Layer 1- Do they have magical abilities? (yes or no) (50/50)

Layer 2(if yes)- at what level are these abilities (powerful , strong , average , mediocre , subpar)

Layer 2 pt 2(will they be accepted by a congregation). - powerful (100%) strong (80%) average (60%) medicore (40%) subpar (20%)

Layer 2 pt 3.- What congregation will they go to? (Holder of Souls, Knights of Forest, Singer of Sun, others later on)

Layer 3 (if no)- Do they have any non magical skills? (The Arts, Fighting, Medicine, Teaching, None)

Layer 4 (based on layer 3 results)- will the congregation accept them for their skills, even if they have no magical abilities (yes or no, EXCEPT for singers of the sun, as they are known to have non magical wolves) (50/50)

*NOTE* - When I use things like 'first' or 'second' it mean they were the first or second thing under Ophelia's rule, not in general.

Holder of the Souls
- The Keepers of History and the Past, they work closely with Ophelia to help direct her in ways that will benefit the pack the most , so she will not make the same mistakes her ancestors did. Most in this congregation are closed off, preferring to spend time studying or debating with fellow Congregation members. Many fear this group, as this is the only congregation that openly uses dark magic. This group also is know for it's low amount of conflict.

Important Figures
ObsidianSun - First Keeper of Life
Atari - Second Keeper of Life , First Soul Healer
Bluff - First Master of the Past
Lutan - First Necromancer of Eve
Deathblow - First Necromi of Eve
Lights of Atlantis - First Viewer of Time

Important Figures : Extended
Keeper of Life - While the Holder of Souls value the past and honor the dead, they still do not wish death upon any members of the pack. The keeper of life's job is to learn the causes of death of other pack members, and to create medicines in hopes of healing sickness within the cohort.

Soul Healer - The Soul Healer is the apprentice of the Keeper of Life. They are expected to learn from the Keeper in both medicinal and magical means, and when they choose to retire or they die, the Soul Healer will take their place and become the Keeper of Lie.

Master of the Past - The Master of the Pasts job is to analyze historical texts and stories from the cohort. They are the record keepers within the pack, and if anything is found of importance, this wolf will go to Ophelia. Some say that the Master's of the Past have prophetic dreams, or can view the past in their sleep. It is unknown if this is true or not, but many believe this ability comes from being touched by the dreamlands.

Viewer of Time - The Viewer of Time is the Master of the Past's Apprentice. The Master may take on more than one apprentice at a time, but before their death or retirement they will choose a successor. The Viewer of Times job is to learn from the Master of Past, and help analyze texts and stories.

Necromancer of Eve - The Necromancers job is to learn how to control and harness the dark magic this congregation uses. He also teaches the children who were chose by the test of ability. Many believe the wolf who holds this job must hold a dark soul. They ae willing to give up anything for advancements in this magical field, no matter the cost. Dark Magic is not used for protection of the pack, and is more used for scientific reasons.

Necromi of Eve - The Necromi of Eve is the Necromancer of Eve's Apprentice. They learn the ins and outs of dark magic, and in later years will even teach the younger generations. All Necromancers have seemed to always know when they are going to die, so the role is passed on from Necromancer to Necromi in a very private ceremony, who only few have viewed

Knights of the Forest
-  The Knights of the Forest are the Cohort's peacekeepers. Children of the forest, their souls align with the deep and ancient strength of the woods. If they are not protecting the other congregations, they educate the new generation in peacekeeping, no matter where they are from. They practice ancient magics, even older than dark magic, though most have to do with nature.  Many believe the forest they live in is fueled by the souls of the Knight's of the Forest, which is why it is the largest Congregation in the Cohort.

Important Figures
Soccer - The Heart
Singe - The Mind
Scholar - The Soul

Important Figures : Extended

*The Knights of the Forest have a much more simple ranking system than the Holders of the Souls. Most people in the congregation under the lead three are ranked in a military style, working their way up as they age*

The Heart - The Heart is one of the three wolves who make up the Body Court, the three rulers of the Knights of the Forest. The Hearts job is to teach about peacekeeping , healing , and defensive maneuvers. The Heart's other bigger job is to keep the peace between each congregation, though at times that may not work out.

The Mind - The Mind is the second part of the Body Court. Their job is to teach the young about Strategy , Teamwork , and basic education. Many young get a full education when they join the Knights, and it is the Mind's job to make sure they are receiving proper education. Both Strategy and Teamwork are parts of the Knight's guard course, which the Mind usually teaches. Their other biggest job is to be Ophelia's lead strategist, and they regularly work with her in times of war, o when territory needs to be expanded.

The Soul  - The Soul is the final part of the Body Court. The Souls job is one of the more...gruff sides of being a Knight. They teach young how to attack and kill enemies, which takes up most of their time. Many do not see the Soul unless their teaching. The Souls other most important job is running the spy network for the Cohort. It is their job to choose and train spies, which usually go to other packs to keep track of them. Only Important Figures know about this part of the Soul's job, and even then they barely know what it entails.

Singers of the Sun
- The Singers of the Sun are the cohorts entertainers , travelers , and traders. Wolves in this congregation come from all different walks of life, and spend much of their days reveling in the pleasures of life than working. They are known for their artistic abilities in music , art , and writing , and do not hold many skills above that. This congregation is known to be the most passive, and everyone usually gets along with these wolves. Many in this congregation don't have magical abilities, as artistic skill is valued over magical skill. Most spies that work for The Soul and Ophelia come from this congregation.

Important Figures
Rosemary - The Bard
Sunset - The Jester
Minerva - The Minstrel

Important Figures : Extended
The Bard - The Bard's main and most important job is to make sure their congregation is thriving, and that each wolf is using their skills to the best of their ability. The Bard regularly helps plan events within the Cohort, and is even known to tutor and apprentice young artists so that they may be successful later in life. Most Bards that have been in the Cohort hold some kind of magical power that enhances their artistic ability, with the current Bard , Rosemary's power being a Siren Call. Most cant resist the sound of her voice, and she is considered the best singer in the Cohort.

The Jester - The Jesters job is to monitor trade and wolf entry, and plan entertainment for Ophelia. They have the most workers under them, and they make sure that any dangerous goods or wolves are not entering the Cohort. When they are supervising trade or immigration, they are planning large and lavish parties for Ophelia, usually for foreign affair meetings. The Jester usually does not have powers, but they are expected to receive a full education from the Knights before being considered for this role.

The Minstrel - The Minstrel's main and most important job is to work hand and hand with The Soul to bring spies into the Cohort's network. They regularly observe young and older wolves to see if they have the potential to become a spy, and if so...that wolf will be sent of to The Soul. The Minstrel also helps train these spies, mainly in etiquette and customs. They are considered the most well rounded, artistically in the congregation, and when they are not working with the Soul, they help young find which art they will end up joining in adulthood.

The Smokestacks
- The Outcasts of Wanderlust Cohort. Ophelia never turns down any wolf, but this group is just treated as...less. They have no special abilities, magical or mundane, and usually work the labor jobs no one else does. Pups born into the congregation usually stay in this group, unless they are invited by another congregation due to them having above average abilities. This group has had the most conflict with other Congregations. Their camp is considered the "border" of the packs territory, and this group is usually the largest.

Important Figures
None

Important Figures : Extended
-The Smokestacks are not allowed to have specific wolves in power of this congregation, as every time they have had a figurehead, rebellion has followed suit. This congregation is allowed to send one or two representatives to leader meetings, but they cannot have leaders of their own.

Domdione / Goddess of Life

Description - Domdoine is considered the 'mother goddess'. Most of the known world has come from her work, and she is one of the most worshipped goddess in the pantheon. She is one of the few dieties who is embodied by a wolf, this is known because every wolf who has had visions of Domdoine have seen her in the form of a wolf. *She is not seen as the goddess of motherhood/fertility , but she is considered a 'mother goddess' because she is a creator of life, mother to all those in the world.

Signs - The Butterfly (representation of life and its cycle) , under ripe fruit , earthquakes/floods/natural disasters

Worship - A week long holiday during the spring equinox known as the 'Fest of Restoration'. This is when Domdoine is worshipped most. Offers and prayer are made year round by her most devoted followers, and she is one of the goddess who are prayed to when mothers are praying for healthy pups.

Prayer most commonly used during the Fest of Restoration -  "Sacred master, divine light of the heavens, overhear my desperate prayer. Touch my spirit so I may shed my hardships. I ask this of you in your almighty name, o giver of love. Favor me with your holy mercy."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thevlous / God of Death

Description - Thevlous is the other half of Domdoine. The cycle of life and death. While Domdoine is the creator of life, Thevlous is the taker of it. He is considered to be one of the most gentle and kind god's, as he understands how hard death can be for some. Wolves that have seen him in prophetic visions have all seen the god in the form of a wolf with deep black eyes and two tails. Some state that smoke comes out of his mouth whenever he speaks, and if you breathe that smoke in you will die.

Signs - Vultures , Black Smoke , Quiet Gravesites.

Worship - In the winter, on the shortest day of the year, is the Feast of Demise. This holiday celebrates mainly Thevlous, but it also has ties in celebrating Tatara and Aean. The pack holds a feast in the center of camp, surrounded by fires that burn black smoke. Its believed that this smoke invites Thevlous in, so that anyone in the year who may pass will pass peacefully.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tatara / Goddess of Shadows

Description - Tatara does not have one set 'description' , as everyone has seen her differently. In mythology she is described as the personification of shadows, so in most artist pieces she is seen as a shadowy form, shaped as different animals with bright and glowing white eyes. Most who see her report her to be in the form of different animals, which makes it so hard to figure out what her true form. She is one of the twin daughters of Thevlous and Dimdione, though she is believed to take more after her father.

Signs - Large flocks of ravens / crows , dark corners , the unknown (many regularly pray to Tatara for her help in exploring the unknown, whether it be mental or physical.

Worship - The main holiday Tatara is worshipped in is the Feast of Demise, along with her father. Many pray to her throughout the year for specific reasons, but the Feast of Demise is her only designated Holiday. The Holder of the Souls hold her main alter, and this is where offerings are but by anyone in the pack.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorra / Goddess of Light

Description - Gorra, like her sister Tatara does not have a designated 'form'. Where Tatora is seen as dark shadows in the form of animals, Gorra is seen as a soft white light in the form of animals. The most reported animal forms she has been seen is a swan or peacock, since those are her animals. Her eyes are reported to be the color of the sunrise, everchanging. She is considered kinder than her twin Gorra, but there are multiple myths that show that Gorra can be viscious and deadly.

Signs - White Swans , White Peacocks (very rare sign of Gorra, this usually means she is trying to make direct contact with someone) , Sunrise

Worship - Gorra does not have any designated Holidays, as she is worshipped year round. Many go out of their way on the longest day of the year to give her extra offerings, or spend more time praying for her guidance. Some make sure give her extra offerings on the feast of restoration, but those ae usually her most devoted followers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eies / God of the Seasons and Forest

Description - Eies is probably one of the most worshipped gods under Thevlous and Domdione, mainly by the Knights of the Forest. He is believed the be the person who blessed any knight with the spirit of the forest in their veins. Eies has no form, and has only been heard by his most devote followers. He is not only the keeper of the forest, he is the forest. It is his soul , mind , and heart. Many believe that the forest surrounding the pack is Eies personal domain, and that he is in the forest with the Knights.

Signs - Sudden plant growth , Roots above ground , Fireflies.

Worship - Eies is most definitely the most worshipped deity out of all of the gods and goddesses. The Knights of the Forest are his main worshippers, and even have a designated cave that is his offering , prayer , and alter area. The most dedicated Knights pray to Eies at least four times a week, and any young getting an education in forest are expected to make an offering at least once a month. Whenever the Knights believe they have received a message or help from Eies, they usually hold a festival, known as 'Root Haven'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oemis / God of the Arts

Description - Oemis is the God of the Arts. This includes art , writing , poetry , music , etc. Oemis also has no direct form, wolves who have had visions of the god usually report him as a flowing ball of colors, with no real shape or form. Or a musical voice, like a siren's. Oemis is usually only worshipped by the Singers of the Sun, but there have been reports of small alters in dens outside of the Singer's area for Oemis. He is most known to give blessing out of all the deities, usually blessing young with certain powers that will enhance their artistic abilities.

Signs - Vibrant colors in unnatural places, vibrant colored wolves (sign of the 'Blessing of Oemis' ) , parrots

Worship - The Singers of the Sun hold a festival every summer for the most worship deities in their community, known as the 'Artistry Fest'. Oemis is usually the heart of this festival, but other deities are also honored at this festival. It is a week long, where members from all throughout the cohort come to sing and dance, in hopes that Oemis will be pleased and bless many young who are born in the coming year with abilties.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aean / God of Souls

Description - Aean is usually described as a figure clothed in tattered black robes. No one can describe what that figure usually is, they just can't put their paw on it. Aean's job is to transport the souls of passed wolves to the free lands, after his father takes their life. He has glowing red eyes, and if mythology is true, that when you look into those eyes your life will be replayed very quickly. He is considered one of the 'quieter' God's, who doesn't really speak to wolves, or even send messages all that much.

Signs - Slow flowing water , animal bones , spiders

Worship - Many throughout the Cohort are wary of Aean, even if they still respect him. Between stories of the God and how he is believed to look, it makes most wolves uneasy. Holder of the Souls is an exception to this, and Aean is the most worshiped god in their congregation, along with Thevlous. He is also celebrated in the Feast of Demise, which is the only time he is openly celebrated. The Holder of the Souls constantly pray and give offerings to him, for guidance in their journey.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zehses / God of War/Militay

Description - Zehses is one of the only other God's who has been seen by anyone who has had visions of him as a wolf. His pelt is a dark brown, which fades into a dark then bright red as it reaches the tips. The only thing that makes Zehes look different than every other wolf are the horns adorned on his head, that would be much to heavy for any normal wolf, and his teeth...which are always stained with blood.

Signs - Horned animals , the smell of blood with unknown origins , intense fire

Worship - While he is considered the God of War and the Military, he is also considered by some the God of peace. When the cohort is not at battle or war, many wolves (especially the Knights) pray to Zehses to keep the bloodshed out of their homes. In times of war, their is a ceremony the night before the first battle known as the 'Giving'. Any pack member going to war gives a little bit of their blood to a skull of a ram, to ask for Zehses protection in battle.

Art by - Srinyx

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ihena / Goddess of Trade

Description - Ihena is the only goddess who is seen in the form of a human. She is seen as a dark-skinned woman with bright silver hair and gold eyes. Most did not know this until a wolf who came from the human world reported that she was in fact a human. She wears a dress made of gold lace, and its believed that if you gaze into her dress you can see every trade transaction going on, anywhere at any time. It is believed that Ihena is in the form of a human because humans are known as people of trade.

Signs - Weaved Baskets , Shiny things (crystal , seashells , etc ) , Eagles.

Worship - The holiday most related to Ihena is the Artistry Festival. Though the festival is mostly for Oemis, many people also make sure to give extra offerings to Ihena in hopes of prosperity and fruitful trade in the coming year. Before every trade, whoever is doing the transaction prays to Ihena, and then gives her an offering once they return home if the trade went well. Most usually give her non material things, such as songs or extra prayer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tephine / Goddess of the Ostracized

Description - Tephine is not considered a goddess by most of the cohort. She is only worshipped by those in the Smokestacks, and she has no alters in any other congregations. When Tephine has shown herself, she shows herself as a direct reflection of whoever she is speaking or sending a vision to, so her form is always changing. It is believed that the only ones who worship her are those who have been ostracized, and by her mirroring the wolfs appearance, it makes them feel less...left out.

Signs - Broken things , Mice/Rats , The smell of cooking food with unknown origin

Worship - Since Tephine is really only believed in by the Smokestacks, she has no holidays. The only alters for her are in the Smokestacks congregation. Any that have been made outside of that area have usually been taken down. Most in the Smokestacks usually give her offerings or sing her folk songs, which is something it is believed she enjoys. Any wolf who leaves the smokestacks is expected to stop worshipping Tephine, as she is not viewed by a true goddess by the rest of the congregations.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any minor deities / demigods will not have something like this, as they are not really celebrated and are only prayed to when their assistance is needed. Most do not have any signs, and have not been seen enough to have descriptions of their appearances.
