Auto-bump a Post!

Auto-bump a Post!

Hello!

I am a long-time player, and I like to promote my post about crafting services. It would be cool if the game had some sort of auto-bump feature where you could have 1 post boosted every hour or some measure of time. It could also be a paid feature to unlock, using gold cones!

No support from me.
If I'm looking for threads on the forums, I'm looking for active ones. Where the owner is online or I can be certain has been recently (and thus probably will be again within an hour or a day or few). It already drives me insane that people who aren't the creator of a thread can go around bumping it up, so if I'm looking for a trade or art shop and get my hopes up, I find out that the creator has been offline for 8+ months and a random user bumped it up for no reason at all. It's a waste of everyone's time. A feature like this should, at a minimum, only be active if the player who created the thread has rolled over that day.

In addition, this feels like it will isolate new players and make their existence here more difficult, possibly even discourage them from creating threads at all.Who would ever see a thread made by a new user if someone who's been here for a year or two (or longer as time goes on) can just pay to have their thread bumped up constantly? No one would get anywhere except people who already have an advantage on this site due to seniority or just thicker wallets.

Most of all, as a player and a reader, I don't want to see the same threads over and over again. It would be annoying to go out looking for, say, active art shops and then only finding the big/popular ones, but none of the newer ones. Instead of just looking a few links down, now I'd have to wade through pages and pages of randomly bumped posts - the content of which would probably be changing constantly because they're constantly being bumped up. It sounds very frustrating and I don't think I'd use the forums very much anymore if I had to struggle to find trades and art like that all the time.

Opposed, sorry. It's always so exciting to see activity on a thread I follow/am interested in and then such a disappointment when it's just a bump :(
