Greetings,

I would really appreciate it if someone could explain to me how the game works and share some tips and what not.

I would like to get a new wolf but the explore thing fails every time I come across a wolf, even if the other wolf seems to appreciate me... Do I do something wrong?

Unless all the arrows are green there is always a chance to fail at befriending, it sounds like you're just having bad luck! If you need a new wolf in a hurry for a quest or something, you can usually find 1SC wolves on the trading center - people will sell NBWs they've found that aren't really worth anything for next to nothing, so they don't end up in the chased wolf pool.

Make sure to do all of Tala's tutorial quests, and you can review those by clicking Tala's Archive under 'Help' if you forget something. There is also a player-made FAQ here that you may find helpful.
