Do you get bonus stats or xp in harder biomes?

So I've been here since launch but honestly haven't played in several months, and I was wondering. Is there any kind of bonus to living in a difficult or challenging biome? Or is it just for the "I want to live here for the aesthetic" ?

Your hunters get more exp when hunting. But it's also harder to hunt successfully, especially if your hunting team doesn't have high stats.
Especially in winter, when hunting % are lowered, it might be difficult to provide enough food for the pack, unless you are willing to spend SC to buy extra food from other players.
