I'm just curious, how do you guys replicate Wolvden markings/colors? I often find they're hard to solidly color pick and blend nicely on more cartoony styled wolves. Your guy's thoughts? |

You mentioned having a cartoony style but I hope it would be alright to share my word as someone with a more watercolor-paint edge. If you dont like blending; defining lineart, shape language & creative patterning are your best weapons. Pattern and color meshes are underrated in simplified character design. Gradients are also useful as they look more reasonable on pieces with fading or changing color without giving the pieces a weird texture; but you can also stipple out fading with fur shapes like triangles. Did a 2 min of my kiddo April to make sense of things? hope it's more help then i think it is :') |
