Ever been in an RPG where you have levels and walk up to an enemy several levels above you, only to essentially be one-shot?

I'd like to suggest that when we approach an enemy 5+ levels, we get a button called "quick-kill" that consumes 10(?) energy and finishes the fight instantly in our favour.

It'd make battling less tedious and people might elect to fight lower level enemies knowing it's a surefire victory without having to heal up ahead of it to avoid dying to a Lvl 1 as a Lvl 20. It's a qol change imo!

If you think you can beat it faster than the energy penalty for quick-kill, manual fighting should still be available.

Believe it'd only taking coding from the devs to implement and it's essentially just a level check (your level minus enemy level > 5? Button appears/doesn't appear).

Support in some form.

Makes me think of Fallout 3 lockpicking. You can just go through the action of opening the lock which can get tedious for lower levels locks vs high level players.

But there's an option to "force" the lock, especially try to break it and open it. There's a chance you can open it immediately, but if your roll fails, the lock is unopenable indefinitely and you don't get another chance.

I think this could be a fun idea in battling for a quick kill option to have a consequence if it isn't successful. Something like you insta die, or losing a Lucky Foot, something similar.

Chance to fail is multiplied by the level of the enemy, and maybe only available for enemies leveled 10 levels below you? Level 15 wolf can quick kill enemy 5 and below for a chance to succeed or fail the encounter.

I get the QOL idea, but I think it would make it a little to easy otherwise.
