Stop unlimited raffle entires

Disclaimer: This is my first time making  a suggestion on Wolvden, and I'm still a bit new to how the game works :)

Hi, I pitched this idea in chat about putting an end to unlimited raffle entries. While they can be good news for the host, they make raffles nightmares for participants, especially when they're everywhere. The problem with having unlimited raffle entries is that it's very easy to "buy" a win if you have enough currency for it. 1 GC could be worth 100 tickets. Now imagine someone dropping 50 GC and purchasing as much as 5000 tickets, while everyone else has purchased a much lower amount. Statistically, the odds are in the players who can afford the most tickets and this can cause raffles to be very lopsided to only wealthier players. I think the purpose of raffles is to give less wealthier players a realistic chance at winning! I think that would truly make the game "gambling".

The reason why splurging on raffle tickets in real life  doesn't transition well to a game like Wolvden is because the amount of participants are much higher (with hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people buying tickets as opposed to only 20 in a wolvden raffle.. also the glaring fact that the Wolvden economy differs from the one in real life.)

While I'm not sure how often incidents like this occur, I do know that this has happened to me multiple times in Lioden where someone has won simply because they had the money for it, and the fact that it even has the possibility of happening should be considered.

Nothing else would change. Hosts can set their prices really high, or really low, and whatever ticket amount etc. But there should always be a limit on raffle entries. I was thinking of the limiting being 1–3 entries at most per participant. This would probably encourage more people to join seeing that they're no longer at a significant disadvantage and that the host would need more players.

I don't see any cons to this since players can already set their raffle entries to limited, it's just that it's voluntarily.
Yay.. or nay?

Full support. Unlimited raffle entries are so annoying, one rich player comes in and everyone else is screwed.

No support. It should remain as it is; allowing people to set how many tickets someone can purchase, if they decide to limit it at all. Sure, there will be times with wealthier people come along and buy plenty of tickets, but I think the option should remain with the raffle owner regardless.

No support. Like Ghostie said, I think the option should remain with the raffle owner. If the raffle owner wants a raffle where everyone has a chance, they can always choose to limit tickets.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with a rich person dropping 5000 tickets on something they really want in an unlimited raffle. It's great for the seller (they make a lot of money!) and it's great for the ticket buyer (they get what they really want! ...probably, unless RNG decides to be mean). In fact, there's the possibility of two rich people getting in a bid war of sorts over a sufficiently prize possession, which is fantastic for the seller.

No support. There's no "guarantee" that someone with more tickets will win. Every ticket has the same chance. Also - how do you know how many tickets the winner had? They're not shown to anyone but the ticket holders themselves. I think it's rather unfair to assume a lot of people win because they spent more money. Plus, the idea that more tickets = rich player is a little unimaginative. If someone set a ticket price to 100 for Large Branches, I'd be able to enter 33,900 times. It's not because I'm rich, but because I HAVE 339 branches.

At the end of the day, it should absolutely be up to the raffle host to set a limit to tickets, if any.

Edit: The number of individual people in a raffle is usually far more than 20. The official raffle had well over 1,000 unique participants, and that was only for a week. Imagine a raffle that lasts a month.

No support-  For a couple of reasons:
A) It hurts raffle hosts, reducing the profit they'll gain (if any, many raffles are hosted at a loss)
B) If someone is willing to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a high chance that they'll win, then they deserve the win if they get it.  I feel like in most cases the amount of extra money needed to skew a raffle heavily enough to make it most likely for one player to win, would probably end up costing almost as much as the value of the item, (since the more valuable the item the more entries will exist) if not more.  Which honestly speaking is not a very profitable decision.  So at the end of the day, for someone to "buy out" a raffle the way you're saying they either have to be valueing the winnings way over their generally perceived worth (IE someone who really wants one specific wolf because of qualities that have value to them but less to the general public) or that they're just doing it for the fun of the gamble, which at that point is just helping out the raffle-er.

no support. the option should remain with the raffle owner like lionel said.

the raffle owner should be able to choose if the raffle has unlimited number of tickets or a limited number of tickets.

if the raffle has unlimited number of tickets , the people should be able to get as many tickets as they want.

when you create a raffle you have the option of limited or unlimited number of tickets.
