How to Earn Candy

There are four ways to earn candy: trick or treating, submitting costumes, or creating halloween based art or writings with your wolves!

Trick or Treating!
A good explanation for wolvden trick or treating has been posted here, but for tips on writing a good scene, check out the second post! You can take a screenshot of the message you've sent for trick or treating, and submit it for candy! We love creative writing here in Lore Clan, so we're eager to see what you come up with.

Candy Scoring: 2 candy = 100 words!
you must write at least 100 words in order to recieve candy for your trick or treating

Halloween Costumes
Do you like creating fun outfits for your wolves? This is the contest for you! Upload your wolf into the wardrobe, and give them a convincing costume! Post  a screenshot with some details about their costumes, and earn some easy candy!

Candy Scoring: 2 candy per unique costume!

Halloween Based Art
It seems frightful things are happening all over the Wolvden map! Has your pack had any troubles with the things that go bump in the night? Draw your wolves with some halloween spirit and earn some prizes! We accept all sorts of artworks: traditional to digital!

Candy Scoring: 5 Candy per Sketch, 10 Candy per Finished Work

Halloween Based Writing
Don't think we forgot about our writers ;)
Frightful ghouls from every tomb are closing in to seal your pack's doom... or maybe they've just discovered some interesting plants with glowing faces!? We want to see how your pack gets into the halloween spirit! Spin us a tale; spooky or not. :) Be sure to link us your work with a doc set to "visible" so we can read your works!

Candy Scoring: 1 Candy per 100 Words

Current Candy Count + Prizes

Prizes Unlocked:
A Scar Bundle (courtesy of Revukan <3)
15sc per ticket (or 1 gc for all 10!) with a maximum of 10! Send your tickets to Revukan (#8977), Goose (#21992) or Rappa (#2168) in a gift titled "Prize Raffle 1" to enter.

how the event works

as the clan submits their hallowversary works and entries, the candy scale above will begin to slowly fill. As we hit each milestone, an event will be released for the clan to participate in! This includes some incredible raffles with prizes such as decor, event applicators, ~ discord exclusives ~ , currency, and more! The raffles will be extraordinarily cheap, 1 sc per ticket, and exclusive to the clan.

There will also be rewards for participation! At the end of the event, your candy contributed will be counted up, and you will be rewarded gold cones based upon how much candy you earned for the event!

a message from the admin:

It's been one year since Lore Clan began, and already we've grown far beyond anything I thought we would. I am so incredibly proud of Lore Clan and our community; I'm not sure I even have the words to express how much you all mean to me. Thank you, all of you, for all the memories and friendship you've given to the clan over this past year. And-- here's to hoping for another.

trick or treating tips!

want to trick or treat, but you're having trouble writing a good start?

it can be a bit daunting trying to reach the 100 word minimum for the event, and if you're struggling, we're here to help! Here's some tips on how to be a good trick or treater c:

check your intended target's territory
It's always a good idea to see what sort of territory your wolf is walking into! It will help you set the scene for the interaction, as well as how your wolf responds to it. If you're trick or treating in the desert, and you're from the tundra, your wolf may have a hard time adjusting to the sweltering heat: or, if it's night, be surprised at how cold it can get! They may also have trouble walking in the sands.

describe your wolf and their costume!
It wouldn't be halloween if we didn't have some fun costumes! What has your wolf dressed up as? Is it a frightening costume? How did they make it? What materials were available to them to craft their outfit: feathers, bones, antlers, pelts? Are they meant to be cute? Is the costume heavy, is it hot? Do they have something to carry their treats in, like a halloween pail? Giving your wolf's description will also help your target write a decent response back! They'll know if their wolf is intimidated, or awe inspired by your wolf's totally awesome costume!

but it also can be difficult writing a good response...

Struggling to write a good response after being trick or treated? We've got you covered. ;)

choose a wolf!
remember: the wolf being trick or treated doesn't necessarily have to be your lead! It can be the cynical elder, who's a bit o a grouch when it comes to holidays. Or it can be the young and spritely herbalist, who has fully embraced their spooky side! Choosing a wolf to receive the trick or treater is a big and fun step to explore personalities and interactions. Remember: it doesn't always have to be the same wolf!!

recall details!
if you've received a trick or treater, with any hope, they've given you a good message to base your response off of. If you're at a loss of what to type, try recalling and restating details that have already been given to you. Is the trick or treater in costume? If so, what is their costume? Can your wolf see the effort they put into it? Did it frighten them, or catch them off guard? If they didn't: what does your wolf think of their lack of halloween spirit? Do they deserve a trick for trying to get free treats from your pack? If they haven't given you much to go off of, continue to the next step,,,

invent!
They're on your turf, so don't be shy to describe it! Has your pack decorated for halloween? If so, how? If not, what is the state of your camp at this time? Is it organized? Is there thick fog rolling in? Are the woods silent, or filled with the sounds of crickets and pup's laughter? If YOUR wolf in costume? If so, what is it?

Costume time! This is Jeannie decked out in what she thinks is festive. This herbalist is going as a huntress. She is wearing a stylish headband made of elk ears that she obtained (from her actual hunter friends), a necklace of scavanged swan feathers (that the pups really like playing with), and she has a muskrat to prove her prowless (it was dead when she found it).

Just sent my first Trick or Treat message to someone!

Screen-Shot-2021-10-08-at-2-43-20-PMWhisper padded through the swamp, wincing every time her paws hit water instead of dry ground. Her daughter followed close behind, taking three steps for every one of Whisper's. Their deep black coats blended into the dark, though their eyes glowed a bright blue. A sun-bleached bird skull sat atop Whisper's head, and she had stuck raven feathers into her fur with sap. The costume had taken her the better part of the day to finish, her typical scouting duties forgotten. The pup struggled to keep the pair of raven wings she wore from trailing on the ground.

At last, Whisper saw a figure ahead, standing on the other side of a deep channel of murky water. She glanced around before picking up her pup by the scruff of her neck and carrying her across a fallen log that had formed a bridge. Depositing the pup on the other side, Whisper nosed her forward.

The pup approached the other wolf hesitantly, glancing back at her mother. Whisper gave her an encouraging nod, and the pup turned back to the wolf. "Trick or treat!" she said.
