Ok, that's weird. I just got an extra slot, just like that...I had room for 4 pack adults and now suddenly 5

Hm that I’m not sure of. Pups don’t take up adult slots until they turn a year old, by the way 

There have been a lot of bugs, so that could be one of them. Are you sure you didn’t get it through a quest or buying it with sc?

I am not sure. One minute I have to buy it with 105 SC and then all of a sudden it says 130 SC and I have 5 adult spots

Each slot goes up by 25sc. So to unlock 6 you’ll need 130, to unlock 7 you’ll need 155, etc

I am new to and it says I can only craft nesting material, do I have to craft the salve, or can I just use it and how?

Healing salves are crafted using the herbalist wolf, which you don't have yet since you're new. You'll get the quest for an herbalist in a couple of days. In the meantime, you can find healing salves by exploring or you can buy them in the trading center! PM if you want some healing salves, I have way too many that I'm not using :-)
